S2’s Clay Sculptures – A School of Sea Monsters
Last week, S2 took part in the Take One Picture project. They explored the famous painting A Muse (Calliope) by Cosme Tura, taking time to look closely, ask questions and find out more about the painting.
The class were especially interested in the sea monsters around the throne, so they decided to use these as inspiration for their own work. They designed and sculpted their own sea monsters out of clay, then painted them once they were dry.
Well done, S2 – fantastic work!

Presidents Sports Day 2026 Breckland Leisure Centre, Thetford

A group of Year 10 students visited Presidents Sports Day in Thetford last Wednesday.
They had a fantastic time and demonstrated exceptional teamwork resilience and kindness learning values. They also encouraged all of the staff to join in too!
They enjoyed some boxing, team games, basketball, inflatable axe throwing, golf, penalty shoot out, go-karts and giant darts. Everyone was a credit to the school and showed excellent listening skills and confidence in a new community scenario. Well done everyone!

We’re really pleased to let you know that we have opened Jax’s Café to staff throughout the school day. This is a great chance for our students to take part in something practical and meaningful, while learning in a real work setting. This is very similar to the staff lunch enterprise that students have run for the last 5 years, and it will continue to give them valuable opportunities to build on that experience. Students will access the café in groups on rotation, each having a different job role to help keep the café running smoothly. Students will be serving customers, taking orders, preparing simple items, tidying away, and making sure they work as part of a team. They will also follow break and lunch routines, just like they would in a real café. This is an additional work experience opportunity and will support students to build confidence, communication, teamwork, and responsibility. A fantastic way for students to develop useful life and work skills that will support them in the future.

Due to a recent expansion, we are currently looking to recruit new SEN staff to join our lovely team at Highfield Littleport Academy in Cambridgeshire.

The new special school building has been fitted with state-of-the-art sensory facilities and a life skills base to further prepare children for the next steps in education, work and life. And now, we are looking for the right people to support them on that journey. This includes Department Leads, SEN Class Teachers, and various levels of Teaching Assistant vacancies, including flexible roles.
