It was lovely to see this article in Ely Standard about our students' work experience placement at Haddenham Art Gallery.

Work experience helps our students develop the skills they need for life and employment, and we're always looking for more businesses to partner with us.

Our first ever summer fete fundraiser at Highfield Ely Academy, CB6 1BD.

Kicking off at 12pm until 2pm
(11am - 12pm exclusive access to Highfield Ely Academy and Highfield Littleport Academy students and their loved ones)

There will be delicious food, beautiful gifts, friendly faces and lots of fun!

Here’s hoping it’s a sunny but not scorchio day 🥵😉not long now!

With our First Ever Summer Fete fast approaching and the current beautiful weather we thought we should probably share a reminder to all as it's easy to forget while enjoying yourselves.

Talking of the Fete, we still have a couple of 1x hour volunteer slots to fill so if you or someone you know can spare just one hour please do let us know 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 [email protected]

- Date: Sunday 14th June -
- Time: 12pm until 2pm -
- Exclusive one hour access to all Highfield students and their loved ones from 11am before officially opening to the community from 12pm -

Important Information for the day:
- No Smoking/Vaping at all on school grounds -
- No Dogs (except for assistance dogs) -
- Please bring cash where possible. Card readers are available but cash preferred -

Hi everyone 😁👋🏻

We are currently looking for local businesses and organisations who would be willing to support our Year 10 & 11 “Yellow Pathway” students (ages 14–15) with meaningful work experience placements. These students have moderate learning disabilities such as autism and ADHD.
Our students would greatly benefit from opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, and gain real-life workplace skills in supportive environments.
We would love to hear from a wide range of industries, including:
• Retail (shops, supermarkets)
• Hospitality (cafés, restaurants, hotels)
• Offices/business admin
• Hair & beauty salons
• Childcare settings (nurseries, playgroups)
• Animal care (vets, pet shops, farms)
• Construction & trades
• Warehousing/logistics
• Gardening/landscaping

Work experience is incredibly valuable for our students. It helps them to:
✨ Build confidence in new environments
✨ Develop communication and social skills
✨ Learn independence and responsibility
✨ Explore future career pathways
✨ Feel included and valued within their community

We work closely with all employers to ensure placements are well-supported, positive, and tailored to each student’s needs.

This is getting very close now!!

Our first ever Summer Fete fundraiser is now only 1 month away 😲😲😲

Thankfully we've worked really hard to secure some of the best food trucks in the area, over 25 local amazing businesses have booked stalls, we've got fantastic entertainment lined up, surprise guests and a whole lot of fun to be had!

We still have 5 x1 hour volunteer slots we need to fill so PLEASE if you can spare 1 hour we need you!!! 🤞🏻

Please get in touch ASAP to confirm your booking/availability. We want to bring the whole community together so we are still accepting stall holder bookings. We've got a variety of companies booked already to ensure we have something for everyone but we'd also love for more businesses to be a part of our incredible fundraising event and we're happy to hear from you all!

Volunteers, we will always be grateful too, whether it's an hour helping or the whole event we'd love to also hear from you.
