Re-Imagine Resource Centre, Community Kitchen and Solidarity Larder. We collect reusable materials. These can then be reused by our members.

Re-Imagine collects materials from which have been donated by businesses. Membership is available to community groups and individuals subject to our terms and conditions. This has lots of benefits such as:

Reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill
Giving people a chance to use these resources creatively
Reducing the amount of new materials that are used which helps save the world's resou

rces. Saving people money on creative and DIY materials
Encouraging creative play and skills
Giving people access to unusual and exciting items and materials not found in shops or online

It is for me? Yes, whether you are part of an organisation or an individual. Re-Imagine is for everyone. Come and see for yourself. You'll be amazed at what we have and you'll amaze yourself with what you can do with it. To use Re-Imagine Resource Centre you will need to become a member. This is a very simple process. On your first visit we will ask you to complete the membership form. If you like you can download and print the form from our website and bring it with you. While you are choosing your materials we will process your membership and give you your membership card before you leave. You will need to bring your card with you whenever you come back to use the Resource Centre. The Re-Imagine Resource Centre is open to everyone. So whether you are a teacher, parent, student, child minder, youth leader, or just somebody with a creative project in mind, the Re-Imagine Resource Centre is for you. Materials can be bought by the bag or trolley load.

📢 Opening Hours Update

Unfortunately, Re-imagine will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday 19 August, but we’ll be opening instead on Thursday 20 August, from 10am–2pm.

Pop in and explore our wonderful selection of rescued fabrics, craft supplies and other Eco Fabulouso treasures! Every visit and purchase helps us save reusable materials from going to waste while supporting our wider work within the local community.

At Re-imagine, we believe that caring for people and caring for the planet go hand in hand. 💚🌍

🌒☀️ TODAY’S THE DAY — ECLIPSE DAY! ☀️🌒

WOW! The last two days have been slightly crazy! We’ve worked our way through nearly 1,000 messages, emails and texts yesterday alone and today's the day for collecting the Solar Eclipse Glasses and Phone Filters. Thank you SO much for all your purchases and support. 💚😊💚

A really important message for today please:

⚠️ Please DO NOT come to the Centre for Solar Eclipse Glasses or Phone Filters unless you already have a order (that has been paid for) waiting for collection!!! We currently have no additional stock available for walk-ins!!!

And please, don’t all arrive at 10am! Your orders are safely waiting for you and can be collected anytime between 10am and 2pm today. Please be patient today while we work through the lists - rudeness is never tolerated at the centre.

🚗 IMPORTANT – entering the Re-imagine car park:
You MUST drive all the way around the recycling centre site to reach us. Please DO NOT cut across from the entrance into our car park. This is really important for everyone's safety and the safe operation of the site.

♻️ RE-IMAGINE IS ALSO OPEN AS NORMAL TODAY – 10AM–2PM!

So while all the eclipse excitement is happening, our Scrapstore is still packed with all our Eco Fabulouso stock and doing what we do every week — rescuing resources, reducing waste and putting people and planet at the heart of everything.

Please remember to view the eclipse safely, follow the instructions on your glasses/filters and NEVER look directly at the Sun without the correct protection.

🌒☀️ SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL IS HAPPENING THIS WEDNESDAY! ☀️🌒

On Wednesday 12th August, look to the skies for one of nature’s most incredible spectacles — a solar eclipse!

Here in Cambridgeshire, the Moon will pass across the Sun, covering around 92% of it at the eclipse’s peak. It begins at around 6.15pm, reaching its maximum at approximately 7.11pm — a pretty extraordinary summer evening to remember!

And if you're planning to watch it, Re-imagine has SOLAR ECLIPSE GLASSES AND PHONE FILTERS FOR SALE! 😎☀️

Please remember: never look directly at the Sun without proper solar viewing protection during an eclipse.

We're back…….! Well almost......

After an amazing few weeks of festivals, private events and community projects, followed by an extremely lovely time to rest and recharge, we're excited to be reopening Re-imagine on Wednesday 5th August 2026, from 10am – 2pm.

We often say Re-imagine is more than a scrapstore, but it really is…..

It's a place where perfectly good things are given a second chance. Where creativity flourishes. Where conversations happen over a pot of tea. Where people pop in for fabric and leave with a smile. Where reducing waste and supporting one another simply become part of everyday life. Every item reused is one less thing heading to landfill, and every visit helps build a kinder, greener community - one that cares for people and the planet equally.
We've been busy while we've been away and there's so much that's new!

Brand new Re-imagine Bee Craft Kits ready for summer creativity. Lots of gorgeous new wool, fresh fabrics and creative resources. Children's Pick 'n' Mix for junk modelling and making – just £1 a bag! Our Social Supermarket is packed with lots of new food. Where everything is just 50p.🥰

Need a breather? Our free hot and cold drinks area will always be available during opening hours if you need a moment to sit, recharge and feel welcome.

Fresh for a Fiver returns every Friday from next week - helping you take home delicious rescued fresh produce for just £5.

Re-imagining means to think about, conceptualize, or create something anew with a fresh, creative perspective. It involves moving past old constraints to shape a different approach, design, or future. Its everything we are.💚

It's taken me a little while to write this post. Ive had a number of fantastic outdoor events these last few weeks which always has me looking at life in a different way. The Re-Imaginarium at Ely Folk Festival was always an experiment, and I honestly wasn't sure where it would take people...or us.

We transformed a children's tent into a space where people could lose themselves in the creative process, share ideas, have conversations and imagine a different future. Built entirely from rescued resources, it became a place where sustainability wasn't just something we talked about - it became the heart of every conversation.

What always blows my mind is how differently children create. They don't see waste, they see possibility. They don't see problems, they see adventures. Our community city grew into something magnificent.

There were ideas for more food-growing spaces, less traffic, public living rooms, parks, ten storey restaurants, neighbourhoods zoos, places where everyone belonged without judgement or shame, and older people sharing their experience and wisdom. Then there were the really important ideas... candyfloss trees, marshmallow ninjas to guard us and a Candy Catapult that fired sweets across the city every hour!

I shall, of course, be submitting this entirely sensible proposal to Planning Department. I also think Ely Cathedral's tallest tower would make the perfect launching point... purely for maximum sweet distribution! 😂

But amongst all the laughter, there were some deeply moving conversations. And do you know what we discovered?

We all really want the same things.

To be happy.

To thrive, not just survive.

To belong.

To feel seen.

To be proud of where we live.

At Re-Imagine, we believe sustainability is about more than recycling. It's about protecting the planet for those who come after us, to save resources, to value people, and believing that a better future starts with imagination.

It's really that simple.

Thank you to everyone who stepped into the Re-Imaginarium and shared a little piece of themselves. To our amazing yearly neighbours , everyone in the Children's Area, the fantastic kids stewards and my brilliant team – Tashi, Bruce, Carol, Katt and her two most craftiest girls I've ever met. You made something very special happen.

One of our other events was a private garden party which was just a complete joy to decorate and cook for - I just can't wait to share the pics - we will definitely do more sustainable outdoor events next year. It’s good for my spirit. Thank you for trusting me with your big day girls.❤️❤️❤️
