✨ Recent Highlights at Cathedral View! ✨

What a busy and exciting time it has been across our settings!

From welcoming new members to our ever-growing team, celebrating qualifications and work anniversaries, to some very exciting personal announcements, there has been lots to celebrate!

We have also been so grateful for the support of our local community, including a very special thank you to Ely Museum for donating their beautiful wooden boat to our Central setting following their recent exhibition.

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wonderful school leavers at Cathedral View - Central 💛

What a special event it was - full of smiles, laughter, proud moments and, of course, some beautiful singing from the children. 🎓✨

As we said yesterday, this is such a special milestone for us, especially as it is our first year sending off a full cohort to school! Watching our children grow from little ones into the confident, kind, clever and wonderfully individual characters they are today is something we feel incredibly proud of.

They have truly set the bar high for the children who follow. They are everything we hope our Cathedral View children will be when they take their next big step into school - confident, curious, caring and ready to take on the world. We know they will make us proud wherever their journey takes them. ❤️

A huge thank you to all of our amazing parents and families for your support, trust and encouragement over the years. Some of you have been with us since the days of only having our little Merivale Way setting, and you have shared in every change, challenge and exciting new chapter that has brought us to where we are today.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your children’s early years. It really is a privilege, and we will miss this special group more than they know. 🥹

🌞🌚 Solar Eclipse 2026 🌚🌞

Today the children across all three settings enjoyed lots of learning focused around today’s near total solar eclipse !

The youngest children enjoyed light and shadow play whilst the older ones made their own eclipse images, glasses and learned about what an eclipse is !

We hope lots of them had the chance to watch this evening and expect there will be many conversations tomorrow about what they saw!

June has been another fantastic month at Cathedral View, with so much to celebrate across our nurseries.

We were pleased to welcome Summer and Abi to our Littleport team, Tamara to Merivale Way, and Rebecca, Amy and Skye to our Central nursery. It's wonderful to see our Cathedral View family continuing to grow.

Our biggest highlight came at the Cambridgeshire SME Business Awards, where we were awarded Gold – Employer of the Year and Silver – Business Woman of the Year, before being crowned the Overall Winner of the evening. An achievement like this is only possible because of the incredible people who make Cathedral View what it is. We're now looking ahead to the National Finals in November, where we're proud to be finalists for Employer of the Year, Apprentice Employer and the Positive Impact Award.

June also saw the publication of our latest Ofsted report for Central, another proud moment for the team and a reflection of the high standards we strive for every day.

There has been plenty to celebrate within our own team too. Congratulations to Ellie and Abi on completing their Level 3 qualifications with Distinctions, Sian on her promotion to Baby Room Leader, and Emma P on moving over to Preschool Room Leader at Littleport.

Outside of work, we were delighted to hear of the safe arrival of baby Mabel, born to Sasha on 19th June. Congratulations to Sasha and her family.

The children have fully embraced the World Cup, with football fever taking over across all three nurseries, and we've loved seeing so much enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the month.

We've also celebrated several staff work anniversaries, welcomed lots of new families into Cathedral View, launched a new partnership between our Littleport nursery and Laburnum Lodge, and continued our valued relationship with Glenholme Vera James House in Ely.

Thank you to our staff, children and families for another memorable month. Here's to an equally exciting July!

Another wonderful visit to our friends at Glenholme Vera James House this week! 💙

It's been so heartwarming to watch the lovely friendships that have grown between our children and the residents over the past few weeks. Seeing them chat, laugh, and spend time together is always such a special part of our week.

This week brought an extra surprise too, as the children got to meet Charlie the parrot, who belongs to the wonderful Events Coordinator, Nikki! 🦜 Charlie was absolutely beautiful and certainly stole the show, bringing lots of smiles and excitement to everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone at Vera James House for always making us feel so welcome. We already can't wait for our next visit! 💛
