This evening after a rest, hot shower and possibly a little bit of a glow from the Welsh sun the Gold group enjoyed “real food” which was a lovely way to end a highly successfully expedition. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our time away - well done Gold Expedition group 2026 for smashing it!

Congratulations to the 41 Y10 pupils completing their Silver DofE expedition today as well as the 9 Y12 pupils who successfully completed their Gold DofE as well. This is a fantastic achievement for all of the students! The Silver’s are now home and enjoying a well deserved rest and the Gold’s return back to school tomorrow. Thank you to all the staff who helped support both of these expeditions.

The Gold group are now on the final leg of their expedition and are still smiling (ish)!

The Gold DofE groups are away on their final day. They enjoyed being on a camp site last night and making the most of the facilities. Spirits are high and they are now heading towards Beddgelert which is almost at the end of their expedition.

The Gold DofE group had a lovely evening at last nights camp and are well on their way today. Although they are tired and ache, spirits are very high.

Silver DofE update:

When we arrived it was rather a damp evening and night and then rain most of this morning. Despite this the students were positive and set off well. Thankfully the rain stopped by lunchtime and we had perfect walking conditions. The walks were suitably challenging, with some cartographical anomalies! Staying at a lovely farm site this evening in a raised position with stunning views. Lots of social chatting and an ad-hoc cricket set-up to finish off a fine day.

Today saw our Y10 Silver DofE group start their expedition. It was a wet Derbyshire morning to start their day off but the weather started to improve throughout the day. Look out for more info and photos tomorrow from the Silver group.
