💛 Today marks 10 years of the campaign supporting YoungMinds and we are so proud of our students and staff at Ely College who showed up today looking luminous! 💛

We continue to stand with young people across the nation, by hosting an ever popular non-school uniform day for on World Mental Health Day; raising awareness of the importance of mental health and showing young people that they are never alone.

Together, we’re shining a light on mental health, encouraging open conversations, and creating supportive environments for everyone. Please consider continuing this conversation at home tonight and check in with each other 🌼

🌟 A whole month of new beginnings!

It’s hard to believe we’re already a whole month into the new academic year. It’s been wonderful to see so many happy faces, new friendships forming and a real buzz of excitement as our Primary and Secondary school new starters settle into life across Meridian Trust.

A huge well done to all of our new starters. We hope you’ve had a fantastic first month! 🎉📚

🎭 Plot twist for Year 11 English! 📝 ➡️ 🎬

Ahead of watching Romeo and Juliet in the evening, our Year 11 students took part in a workshop kindly provided by the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.

While we initially expected a traditional 'Creative Writing' session, we got a brilliant surprise! The workshop took a dynamic, performative turn, using live drama techniques instead of pens and paper.

Our students jumped straight into the action, exploring the high-stakes motivations and dramatic delivery behind the famous fight scene: "A plague on both your houses!" By physically embodying Romeo, Mercutio, and Tybalt, they gained a completely fresh perspective on the text before seeing it come to life on the big stage that evening!

Huge credit to our Year 11s for adapting so quickly and bringing such fantastic energy to the session! ⚔️✨
