We are delighted to inform you that our school, alongside Isle of Ely Primary and Ely College, have been selected by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority to participate in the School Neighbourhood – Ely Kids Streets Project.
Ely is one of only six locations selected nationally, making this a significant and exciting opportunity for the city.

The project will take a whole-journey approach, considering how children and families travel from their front door to the school gates, with the aim of making walking, wheeling and cycling safer, easier and more enjoyable. A particular focus will be placed on routes connecting to National Cycle Network Route 11.

Between September and November 2026, the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust will facilitate a series of co-discovery activities involving students, school staff, parents and the wider community to identify barriers to active travel.

This will be followed by a co-design phase between January and March 2027, during which participants will help develop practical solutions and proposals to encourage more active journeys to school.

Walk Wheel Cycle Trust will be at the Back to School Fair tomorrow (Friday 11th September), please visit their stand and share any feedback on barriers or challenges that may affect your ability to travel actively to and from school.
