The Willows have been celebrating the Platinum Jubilee by doing lots of arts and craft activities, afternoon tea, teddy bear picnic and a bbq in the garden where all the children wore crowns they had made this morning.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely bank holiday 😊

We are holding an opening evening this Thursday (14th April) from 6:15-8:30pm. We understand that a lot of our current parents/carers haven’t seen where their children learn and thrive, therefore this gives them the opportunity to finally be able to do this. Also any NEW prospective parents are welcome to pop along and meet the management team who will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Just a quick update regarding your child/ren returning to nursery. On their first day back please can we ask that you LFD test your child to ensure everyone in the setting returns on a negative test result.

REMINDER:
Just a polite reminder to all of our parents and carers at The Willows. It has been brought to our attention that there are currently a high number of COVID cases in Soham, therefore from Monday 19th July we will be continuing with all of our safety measures still in place, including social distancing, hand sanitising and the wearing of masks by staff and parents/carers at drop off and collect times.
Please continue to drop off/collect your child/ren from the designated doors, where a member of staff will assist you as always.

Towards the end of last year, we started to revamp our main garden area! We have made lots of new equipment and fun things for all the children to explore and enjoy using lots of bits and bobs we found laying around and some things that we were kindly donated by others. The children absolutely love being outdoors especially now there is so much more on offer to them. We have received lots of comments from them including:
“The fairies have been in and brought all these new things”
“This is awesome”
“This is very different”
“Wow, look at that”
“That’s like a forest isn’t it”
And lots more!!

After what’s been a crazy busy first week back to 2021, we finish on some positive news for you all!
From Monday 11th January all three of our Out of School Clubs will be reopening, however following the government guidance and the local schools we will only be open to the children of key worker parents/carers or the vulnerable.

We have tried our absolute best to get into contact with the parents/carers however, if your child will be attending the schools and you wish you continue to use our services please do let us know so we can add your child/ren back onto the lists.

Nursery is open as usual ..

Good evening all,

As your probably aware, Boris has tonight shut down all of the primary schools with effect of tomorrow (Tuesday 5th January 2021) except those children that are vulnerable or children of key worker parents.

This does mean that unfortunately we are going to have to close both our breakfast and after school clubs until further notice and more clarification is given.

If you are a key worker parent/carer or your child is vulnerable and will be attending the school, and you would need our wraparound services, please let us know by 12.00 on Friday 8th January.
We are going to communicate with all three schools that we currently cater for to give us clarification on weather or not we can still operate on the school sites. Depending on weather they allow us to do this and the numbers that we get confirmed before Friday, then our services may re open from Monday 11th January.

We will keep you updated as and when we know anything further.

Today we had our festive bake off!

The rooms went head to head in a bake off challenge to win the prize of best presented / tasted goodies.

On the menu was the following:

Starter - the cheesiest delight
Main - the most festive looking pizza
Dessert - a chocolate hat to make me fat

Cubs vs Pandas vs Badgers/Owls and I’m pleased to tell you that in first place and the room that took home the prize was ......

PANDAS!

Followed very closely by Cubs, then Badgers & Owls!

After lots of long days, blood, sweat and tears ..

WELCOME TO PANDAS!! 🎉 it is with great pleasure to announce the opening of our cosy refurbished room within the nursery setting.
Pandas will cater for children aged 16-24months. This is to split up our large aged range baby room which will now only be 3-16months.
The new room will give the older babies more of a stimulating environment to play and learn in and the younger ‘Cubs’ more room to explore and grow.

After only using 2 of our nursery rooms over the past 26weeks, it is now time for both the staff and children to explore new adventures in their rooms.

From Monday 21st September, all of our rooms will be back up and running with the staff being:

Cubs: Shannon & Gemma
Pandas: Charlotte & Katie
Badgers: Rosie & Victoria
Owls: Mia, Chloe & Jade
All other staff members will be working in all of the above rooms dependant on children’s numbers.

Today we don’t only welcome one member of staff back but ..2! 🎉🎉

Chloe and Sally will be returning today in preparation for schools returning next week.

They are both returning to their usual hours and roles within the business. After being off for over 5 months, this morning will consist of settling back into some kind of normality.
