Leading the conversation on safe and purposeful AI in education

We’re proud to see our Director of Innovation, Ms Clare Jarmy, featured in Absolutely Education, one of the UK’s leading education publications, sharing our innovative and values-led approach to artificial intelligence.

The article explores how we are helping prep-aged pupils engage with AI in ways that are exciting, safe and purposeful, while developing the critical thinking, ethical awareness and human skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled world. From our pioneering curriculum focused on key dispositions such as collaboration, initiative and integrity, to being one of only five UK independent schools awarded the Gold AI Quality Mark, Habs Elstree Schools continues to lead the way in responsible AI education.

A journey across the Francophone World as Year 8 students celebrated and brought French-speaking culture to life.

After researching a Francophone country of their choice, students showcased their learning through creative displays, interactive activities, engaging presentations, themed costumes and even traditional foods. Classrooms were transformed into immersive cultural experiences featuring countries including France, Cameroon, Canada and Ivory Coast.

The project not only highlighted the richness and diversity of the French-speaking world but also helped students develop valuable skills in research, teamwork, communication and presentation.

The quality of work was exceptional, with judges and visitors impressed by the creativity, enthusiasm and attention to detail shown by every group. While some presentations received special recognition, the real success was the collaboration, curiosity and passion demonstrated by all students.

We are incredibly proud of every Year 8 student who contributed to this memorable celebration of language and culture.

What happens when students from Years 7 to 12 come together to create something magical? A Dream within a Dream.

Born from the ideas of our Drama scholars and developed through student creativity, this original production celebrated imagination, storytelling and the joy of performance.

A particular highlight was the incredible sense of teamwork, with younger and older students working side by side, sharing ideas, encouragement and creativity throughout. From rehearsals to the final curtain call, students worked collaboratively, learning from one another, building confidence and supporting each other every step of the way.
The result was an inspiring theatrical experience that demonstrated the power of creativity, teamwork and friendship.

Congratulations to everyone involved!

Adventure, challenge and discovery

It has been another fantastic year for Outdoor Education, with students embracing every opportunity to explore, challenge themselves and try something new.

The Summer Term saw scenic hikes and canoeing adventures to white-water rafting and the exhilarating Nuclear Races, creating unforgettable experiences and a real sense of achievement.

Our weekly Outdoor Education programme continues to thrive, with students developing resilience, confidence and teamwork through the many activities available.

Here’s to adventure, friendship and personal growth in the great outdoors!

The Class of 2026 achieved excellent GCSE outcomes, with 45% of all grades awarded at grade 9 and 73% at grades 9-8. More than half the cohort (56%) achieved at least eight grades at 9 or 8.

These results are the culmination of years of dedication, determination and ambition.

We are proud not only of what they have achieved, but of the young people they have become.

We look forward to welcoming them into Sixth Form and seeing what they achieve next.

Congratulations, Class of 2026.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on their outstanding A Level results.

The most common grade was an A*, with 42% of our students achieving at least 2 A*.

37% of all A Levels awarded were at grade A* and 73% of all A levels awarded were at grades A*-A.

These results are the culmination of years of dedication, determination and ambition.

Throughout their time at Habs, these students have learned how to think independently, embrace challenge, work collaboratively and contribute positively to their communities.

We are proud not only of what they have achieved, but of the young people they have become. Their character, confidence and sense of purpose will serve them long after they leave Habs.

Congratulations, Class of 2026.

Living the language: Year 12 Students immerse themselves in Spanish life and work experience

Ten of our students from Habs Girls and Habs Boys spent time in Cantabria, Spain, gaining invaluable real-world experience while developing their Spanish in authentic settings where English is rarely spoken.

Highlights included hosting a live radio interview and delivering an impressive, guided tour entirely in Spanish, showcasing the confidence, fluency and cultural understanding they developed throughout the trip.

We are incredibly proud of how our students embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, resilience and curiosity. This transformative experience not only strengthened their language skills but also deepened their appreciation for Spanish culture and opened doors to future academic and international opportunities.

Enterprise Skills success and industry insight at Berenberg Bank

Our Sixth Form students recently put their business acumen to the test in an exciting online business simulation delivered by Enterprise Skills, developing valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork and decision-making.

The challenge brought together students from Habs Girls, Habs Boys, Haberdashers’ Borough Academy and Haberdashers’ Hatcham College, creating a collaborative and competitive experience across the Haberdashers’ community.

Following outstanding performances, the top 16 students earned an incredible reward: the opportunity to spend a day at Berenberg Bank.

A huge thank you to the Haberdashers’ Foundation for supporting this enriching experience, providing firsthand industry insight beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to all the students who took part, and especially to those whose success in the challenge earned them this exceptional opportunity.
