Making the most of these last few weeks of summer!!

August always feels like a little pause before routines begin again, schools go back and life starts to feel that bit busier.

So if you’ve been meaning to try something new, come and spend a little time at the studio. Get your hands in clay, switch off for a while and enjoy creating something just for you.

From one-off throwing experiences and 1-to-1s to group sessions and hand building, there are lots of ways to come and create at Sarah Core Arts.

Let’s make the last of summer a creative one.

Get in touch or visit the website to find a session that suits you.

Taller and taller, one pull at a time.

Learning to pull the clay upwards is such an important part of throwing, gradually building height while keeping control of the form as it grows.

And the lovely thing is, you don’t have to follow one set path in my studio. I offer group throwing classes, one-to-one sessions and bespoke throwing experiences depending on what you’d like to learn or create.

Have a particular piece in mind? Tell me your idea and we can build a session or package around helping you make it.

From your very first pot to bigger, more ambitious forms, there’s always something new to explore on the wheel.

Get in touch to find the right throwing session for you.

Bringing people together through clay 🤍

Some of my favourite workshops are the ones where a whole group gets around a table, switches off, gets their hands into clay and simply enjoys creating together.

I host bespoke group experiences both at the Sarah Core Arts studio and out at your chosen location, bringing the clay, tools and creativity with me.

From corporate and wellbeing days to birthdays, celebrations, community events, retreats, private gatherings and more each workshop can be tailored around your group and occasion.

If you have an event coming up and would love to bring clay into it, get in touch. I’d love to hear what you have planned and create something special for you.

Working with larger amounts of clay brings a whole new set of challenges.

Throwing bigger isn’t simply about using more clay, it requires a different approach to centring, steady control, and plenty of patience. Taking your time is key, allowing the form to grow gradually with each pull until the clay begins to work with you.

It’s always exciting to reach this stage of the pottery journey. As confidence grows, so do the possibilities, opening the door to creating larger bowls, vases, and statement pieces.

Whether you’re just starting out or ready to develop your throwing skills, my weekly throwing classes and one-to-one sessions are designed to help you progress at your own pace.

Looking for a team day that’s a little different?

This group enjoyed a bespoke 3-hour pottery experience, combining hand building with an express throwing session, giving everyone the opportunity to explore two different techniques in one workshop.

Working with clay has a wonderful way of bringing people together. It encourages conversation, creativity, and collaboration, while giving everyone the chance to slow down and enjoy making something with their own hands.

Whether you’re planning a team away day, a wellbeing session, or a creative social, workshops can be tailored to suit your group and your goals.

If you’re looking for a memorable team experience, I’d love to help create something bespoke for you.

A finished piece, ready to be enjoyed in the garden by the birds!

This beautiful lotus-inspired bird bath was created by the talented during our weekly Sunday hand building class. Week by week, it grew from an idea into this stunning garden feature, full of delicate detail and designed to bring a little more life into the garden.

Pottery doesn’t just have to live on a shelf, it can become part of your home, your garden, and your everyday surroundings.

If you’ve been thinking about making something a little different, my weekly hand building classes give you the time, support, and creative freedom to bring your ideas to life.

Get in touch to find out more or join the waiting list for the next block.

Raku has arrived at Sarah Core Arts… and it’s unlike any other pottery experience.

Raku is one of the most exciting firing techniques in ceramics. Watching your work come glowing out, creating the beautiful smoky markings, crackles and rich colours that make every piece completely unique.

Our two-part Raku course is now underway, but you can still join us for Part Two as a standalone workshop.

Join us for our monthly Mindfulness & Clay Workshop, thoughtfully scheduled around the New Moon.

Our next session takes place on Thursday 6th August and offers a chance to slow down, reconnect, and spend a few hours creating with clay in a calm and supportive environment.

These workshops are intentionally kept small and intimate, allowing everyone the space to fully immerse themselves in the experience. Through mindful making, creativity, and quiet reflection, you'll leave with both a handmade piece and a sense of calm.

If you'd like to join us, book your place now. Spaces are limited and tend to fill quickly.
