Leading the conversation on safe and purposeful AI in education 

We’re proud to see our Director of Innovation, Ms Clare Jarmy, featured in Absolutely Education, one of the UK’s leading education publications, sharing our innovative and values-led approach to artificial intelligence. 

The article explores how we are helping prep-aged pupils engage with AI in ways that are exciting, safe and purposeful, while developing the critical thinking, ethical awareness and human skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled world. From our pioneering curriculum focused on key dispositions such as collaboration, initiative and integrity, to being one of only five UK independent schools awarded the Gold AI Quality Mark, Habs Elstree Schools continues to lead the way in responsible AI education.

Upper School Challenge: good news worth sharing! 

What if just one inspiring story could spark curiosity, conversation and fresh thinking? Our Upper School Challenge launched a new initiative, inviting students to discover an uplifting news story and to then share it with their tutor group, helping to spread positive news, broaden perspectives and develop confidence in presenting ideas. 

Students showcased an incredible range of topics, including DNA in Seawater, Louis (9C2), Retinal Chip Implants, Rishi (10H2) and Miracle Tree Breakthroughs, Onkaar (10R1).
 
What made this challenge so special is its celebration of curiosity, communication and continuous learning. Students were encouraged to look beyond headlines, explore innovations shaping our world and share stories that inspire hope and optimism. 

A huge thank you to everyone who embraced the challenge so enthusiastically and congratulations to all prize winners.  We can’t wait to hear what fascinating discoveries students uncover next!

Young scientists shine as Fair sparks curiosity and creativity among Year 7 and 8 students

Showcasing an impressive range of student-led projects, the Fair highlighted the growing passion for science among younger students. Judged by Ravjoth (L6M3), Freya(12 DHH/CR) and Anusha (12 SP/KAS), the Fair featured a variety of innovative projects, reflecting both creativity and a strong understanding of scientific concepts.

Head of Middle School, Mr Tom Hardman, expressed his delight at the vibrant atmosphere, noting the buzz that filled the room as students eagerly shared their ideas. Special thanks to Head of Chemistry, Dr Bushra Chaudhury, and the Science department, whose guidance and support helped students develop their ideas.

Appreciation is also extended to staff members who took the time to engage with each project, asking probing questions and encouraging students to think critically about their work.

Adventure, challenge and discovery

It has been another fantastic year for Outdoor Education, with students embracing every opportunity to explore, challenge themselves and try something new.

The Summer Term saw scenic hikes and canoeing adventures to white-water rafting and the exhilarating Nuclear Races, creating unforgettable experiences and a real sense of achievement.

Our weekly Outdoor Education programme continues to thrive, with students developing resilience, confidence and teamwork through the many activities available.

Here's to adventure, friendship and personal growth in the great outdoors!
