⚽️. Senior boys football result. ⚽️

J.M Lowe 🏆 first round result.

The senior boys today put in a fantastic performance defeating Oldmachar Academy 4-3 on penalties after drawing 2-2.

Ellon started the match well and had a sustained period of possession and chances but were unable to take them. Oldmachar against the run of play took the lead through an excellent 40yard half volley that flew over the top of the goalkeeper. Ellon continued to press forward but were unable to find the finishing touch.

Second half started the same way with Ellon dominating possession and territory but again another wonder strike from 35 yards on the touchline flew into the top corner of the Ellon net. Ellon 0 Oldmachar 2

The Ellon team responded well and James M playing at left back strode forward, cut inside his man and drove the ball home. Ellon continued to push and duly equalised when again James M picked up the ball on the right hand side of the box and unleashed an unstoppable volley into the far top corner.

Ellon continued to push for the winner but were unable to find one final goal taking us to penalties.

With Ellon taking second, both team scored their first three but then Archie C made an excellent stop. Ellon then scored their fourth meaning Oldmachar had to score to stay in the match.

Archie C stepped up again saving the ball and putting Ellon into the next round of the J.M Lowe Trophy vs Robert Gordon’s at countesswells.

Huge shout outs to Kallan H and Archie C for going in goals today due to illness of our regular goalkeeper.

Also our thoughts are with Dylan W who had to leave the field after 10mins with a serious looking injury🤕 Get well soon.

Pupil success.
Eve C was selected for the Scottish team competing at the British Triathlon inter regional championships at Malory park. The race was on the 30th August.

Eve’s first time representing Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, and what an experience for her.
A brilliant weekend of racing with a fab team.

Mixed team relay on the Sunday, Eve raced up an age group into the youth / junior relay
Eve had the first leg of run / bike / run,took it in her stride, and stuck in really well.

After the relay, it was straight into the triathlon transition challenge, competing with her team for points towards team Scotland.
Eve was really quick going through transition, and certainly nailed it.
Overall a great experience and proud moment for all.

⚽️⚽️NOS 🏆 Result Ellon 5 Buckie 1 ⚽️⚽️

Ellon seniors today defeated Buckie High school in their opening North of Scotland Fixture on a glorious day for football at Ellon Meadows sports centre.

Ellon put on an an excellent first half display playing some assured football out from the back creating numerous opportunities and went in deservedly 3-0 ahead at half time and probably should have scored more.

The second half became slightly disjointed due to a large number of changes and Buckie had a good spell of possession and started creating chances, ultimately leading to a Buckie goal. Ellon however responded and scored two more to close out the game comfortably.

It was great to see a large number of players (8) make the debut for the senior team this year especially a large no of S4’s (5)

Reminder interhouse basketball is this week.

Tuesday: S2
Wednesday: S3
Thursday: S4
Friday: S5/6

Players should eat their lunch then come down to the games hall no later than 13:20 on Tuesday and 12:30 on Wed/Thu/Friday so we can start games promptly.

PE KIT DRIVE:

We are looking for donations of old sports clothing for our PE spare kit cupboard.

Primarily this is used for pupils who forget their PE or swimming kit however is also used in emergency/personal situations so it is really important we keep a healthy stock in a range of sizes for our pupils.

If you are having a clothing or towel clear out we would be very grateful of any donations.

In particular we are looking for the following in male and female, all sizes, any design or style as long as school/sport appropriate:
-tshirts
-shorts
-leggings
-joggers
-swim wear
-towels

Please hand any donations into the school office or PE Department!

EASA MONEY REMINDER

Please see below regarding EASA Membership Payment.

Money should only be handed in ON THURSDAY 10TH of SEPTEMBER during registration.

🎉EASA PAYMENT INFORMATION🎉

The try before you buy period for EASA will end on Thursday 10th September, after this date EASA memberships will be required in order to attend all EASA sports teams and clubs. Once a membership has been purchased, your child can attend as many EASA clubs as they would like.



Membership sign up and payments will take place on Thursday 10th September during registration/period 1 in the sunken social area.



Pupils can pay by handing in £40 in a named envelope (in exact cash or by cheque) during the sign-up in the sunken social area. Pupils will then receive a receipt confirming payment. All payments must be made during this time, any pupil who has not paid after this will be unable to attend their chosen club.



Please make all cheques payable to ‘Ellon Academy Fund’.



Any pupils/carers who have concerns about costs or who are on Free School Meals should contact their guidance teacher in the first instance. Pupils who receive FSM will have their EASA membership paid for them.



If pupils have further questions, they should speak to the teacher leading their club/team prior to Thursday 10th September.

PE KIT REMINDER:

As we start the 2026/27 session please see the reminder regarding PE kits for Ellon Academy.

When attending PE, pupils must have:
A change of top or tshirt.
This CANNOT be the same shirt or tshirt you wore to school

Jumper/hoodie/jacket for outdoor/poor weather

Suitable bottoms-
Leggings, joggers or shorts

Suitable Shoes-
Trainers
No slip on shoes (UGGs, heeled & flat boots, crocs, sliders birkenstocks, etc.)

Any pupil who does not bring a suitable change of PE kit will be asked to borrow kit/shoes and will receive a text home.

This applies to all pupils who have Core PE (all S1-5), S3elective, Sport & Rec, N4/5, Higher, Refereeing and Sports Development on their timetables.
