Learn to Swim / Toddlers - Stage 7 / Adults & Private Sessions in Ellesmere and at Moreton Hall (Oswestry)

At the Titans Learn to Swim we pride ourselves on the quality of our swimming lessons, all of which are delivered by highly qualified teachers. By keeping our class sizes very small (3:1 ratio in shallow end, 4:1 ratio in deep end of pool) we ensure that our swimming instructors have the time to focus on the individual swimmers needs, while ensuring that our pupils also have fun by learning and developing life skills. All our teachers are DBS checked and every child gets an individual progress report at the end of each swimming term. We currently run lessons on Monday's, Wednesday's & Saturday's at the Ellesmere Primary School pool. We are located in Ellesmere (Shropshire), close to Oswestry, Wrexham, Whitchurch and Shrewsbury. Our classes run during school term time and Titans Learn to Swim was founded and is managed by Stefanie Bircher.

🏊‍♀️ Meet the Team – Sienna 🏊‍♀️

Last but certainly not least, we’d like to introduce the lovely Sienna, who’s also celebrating her birthday today 🎉🎂🥳

Sienna actually started her own swimming journey right here at Titans Learn to Swim and went on to become a competitive swimmer, swimming up to county level.

She is now a qualified Level 1 Swimming Teacher and is planning to continue her teaching journey by working towards her Level 2 qualification in the near future.

It’s really special to have Sienna back with us, this time helping the next generation of swimmers develop their skills and confidence in the water. 💦

You’ll currently find Sienna teaching at our Moreton Hall venue on Fridays, as well as helping out and covering wherever she’s needed.

We’re so pleased to have Sienna as part of the Titans team and look forward to watching her continue to grow as a swimming teacher! 🏊‍♀️

We’re delighted to introduce Millie, the newest member of the Titans Learn to Swim team!

Millie joined us in September 2026 and has already made a fantastic start. She recently completed her STA Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification over the summer, having previously gained her Level 1 Assistant Swimming Teacher qualification and Lifeguarding qualification.

Alongside teaching with Titans, Millie also teaches school swimming at Ellesmere Primary School and studies A Level History online.

Millie particularly enjoys helping children build their confidence in the water and develop the important swimming skills they need for life. 💦

We’re really pleased to have Millie as part of the Titans team and look forward to seeing her continue to develop as a swimming teacher! 🏊‍♀️

Hi, I’m Claudia!

Swimming has been a huge part of my life. I’m a former competitive swimmer and have been teaching swimming since I was 16, having volunteered in swimming before that.

I’ve gained a number of qualifications over the years, including my Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification and Level 1 Coaching qualification, and I’m hoping to continue developing my coaching qualifications in the future.

I now spend every day teaching swimming, and my favourite part of the job is seeing children progress through the stages, grow in confidence and develop the vital swimming skills they’ll have for life. 💦

It’s so rewarding watching swimmers achieve things they may not have thought were possible and seeing their confidence grow along the way.

You’ll currently find Claudia teaching with us on Fridays at our new Moreton Hall venue.

🏊‍♀️ Meet the Team – Lucy 🏊‍♀️

Part of Lucy’s own swimming journey took place at Titans, and we’re delighted that she’s now joined our teaching team!

Lucy was a very good swimmer herself, competing at county and regional level, so she has plenty of experience and understanding of swimming from a swimmer’s perspective.

After progressing through her own swimming journey, Lucy began helping on poolside and in the water. She completed her ASA Level 1 Teaching Swimming qualification in October last year and is currently working towards completing her ASA Level 2 qualification.

It’s fantastic to see Lucy continue her journey with Titans, and we’re so pleased to have her helping our swimmers develop their skills and confidence in the water.

You’ll find Lucy teaching at Ellesmere Primary School on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as well as at our new Moreton Hall venue on Fridays.

We’re very proud to have Lucy as part of the Titans team and can’t wait to see where her teaching journey takes her! 🏊‍♀️

🏊‍♀️ Meet the Team – Edwina 🏊‍♀️

After working in healthcare for over 30 years, I felt it was time for a new challenge, and I’m delighted to be part of the Titans Learn to Swim team.

I’ve always had a passion for swimming and believe it’s not only a fun sport, but also an incredibly important life skill.

As a parent, I’ve developed many skills over the years that I can bring into my swimming lessons. Swimming has also been a big part of our family life, with all three of my children swimming competitively. I’ve supported them throughout their swimming journeys in many different roles, from poolside team management to committee positions.

I’m passionate about helping children develop their swimming skills, make progress and, most importantly, become happy and confident in the water. 💦

You’ll find me teaching with Titans on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and I’m really looking forward to helping our swimmers enjoy their time in the pool! 🏊‍♀️

Meet Sally 👋
Sally is married with two wonderful daughters, and swimming has been a lifelong passion of hers. She represented Shropshire during her school years and has always loved being in and around the water.
More recently, Sally achieved a personal milestone by completing the Great North Swim in the breathtaking setting of Lake Windermere.
Her journey into teaching swimming began when her own children were learning to swim. In 2004, she gained her Level 1 ASA Certificate for Teaching Swimming, followed by her Level 2 qualification in 2005. She also holds a Baby and Pre-School Swimming qualification, which has allowed her to introduce the joy of swimming to some of our youngest learners.
Sally mainly teaches at our Moreton Hall pool on Fridays, but is always happy to step in and cover other sessions whenever we’re in need of an extra pair of hands.
She believes swimming is not just an important skill, but a vital life-saving ability that everyone should have. Sally is passionate about teaching both children and adults and particularly enjoys watching swimmers develop their skills, overcome challenges and grow in confidence in the water.
Seeing someone overcome their fears and learn to enjoy the water is incredibly rewarding, and she feels privileged to be part of that journey. 🏊‍♀️

Our lovely Linda 🫶🏼
Linda Roberts has been teaching swimming to the children of Ellesmere for over 30 years, so she brings a huge amount of experience and knowledge to our Titans team. We’re very lucky to have her as part of our teaching team.
Here’s a little bit about Linda and her love of swimming:
“I have always been very passionate about swimming and have always loved it, but I enjoy teaching it even more.
I love watching children progress and gain confidence in the water. Seeing their skills develop and watching them become more confident swimmers is just amazing.
Being able to teach such an important life skill is incredibly rewarding, and I’m passionate about helping children learn to swim while making sure they enjoy their time in the water too.”

Say hi to our lovely Sue! 💜🏊‍♀️

Sue has been a valued member of staff at Ellesmere Primary School for many years, where she has helped pupils develop their swimming skills and, most importantly, learn this vital life skill. Alongside swimming, Sue has also supported children in the classroom, giving her a wonderful understanding of working with children of different ages, abilities and personalities.
Having spent so much time at Ellesmere Primary, Sue already knows the pool, the school and many of the children, making her a fantastic addition to our teaching team.
