Supporting national and international swimmers in a high-challenge, high-support environment to achieve their goals. The Ellesmere College Swimming Academy caters for students from Year 5 to Year 13 and combines sport and academic studies in unison, allowing for a disciplined approach to manage the demands and expectations of both areas. We are a smaller focused programme of approximately 50 athle

tes, that is driven on providing the best possible support physically, mentally and academically for our athletes. Our athlete centred approach and attention to detail has enabled athletes in their time at Ellesmere College Swimming Academy, achieve World Senior Medals, International Junior Medals, British Age Group Records, National Medals and many more. There we land, we are buzzing to announce our next Ellesmere College summer signing.🔥

Elliot will be making the journey from North Wales to join Ellesmere College for his sixth form years in September.👏

British Championship junior finalist and multiple time British Next Gen Breaststroke finalist Elliot will move to the programme with great ability and potential across all four strokes. With big goals in the classroom and in the pool in mind, he will join an environment that provides the platform to excel in both areas and links up with a training group hungry for progression.

When asked about joining Ellesmere College, Elliot said “I’m excited to be joining Ellesmere because I want to experience new things, I can’t wait to see how far I can take my swimming and my academic subjects with the Ellesmere team over the next two years.”

It’s that time again, we are pumped to announce our next Ellesmere College summer signing.🔥

Emily makes the move from and will join Ellesmere College in September.👏

Several time British National qualifier and Welsh National Champion Emily has skills across all strokes and will show the way when it comes to underwater fly kick speed. She will be joining an environment that will be tailored to her, whilst being part of a performance team striving for more everyday.

When asked about joining Ellesmere College, Emily said “I’m excited to join Ellesmere because it gives me the opportunity to push myself in the pool and in the classroom. The opportunity to board during the week allows me to fully focus on swimming and academics. The support and feedback I’ve had from both Coach Guy and Coach Mikey has given me a real sense of the programme and I can’t wait to join up with the team.”

We are very pleased to announce our next Ellesmere College summer signing.🔥

Sophia will be getting down to business come September at Ellesmere College, she joins from her local club in the North West. 🫡

Multiple time English National athlete Sophia has shown her ability and potential in the pool over the past few seasons, excelling in freestyle and backstroke with a sprinkle of medley in there too. She will be ready to progress her swimming and academics onwards and upwards during her sixth form years at Ellesmere College.

When asked about joining Ellesmere College, Sophia said “I’m excited to join Ellesmere because it gives me the chance to grow, challenge myself and take my swimming to the next level. I’m looking forward to learning from great coaches and becoming part of the Ellesmere team.”

Following on from an exciting summer of racing and celebrating our graduates, we can’t wait to share our next summer signing.🔥

Isabel will be joining Ellesmere College in September for her sixth form years, she makes the move from in the West Midlands.🤝

British National finalist and English National Medalist Isabel will arrive in Shropshire as a fly and freestyle specialist, with a drizzle of medley in there also. We know she will thrive in her new environment, ready to take the next step during her time at Ellesmere. Coach Andy has done a great job in collaborating with the Ellesmere coaching team to ensure a smooth transition of programming in the pool.🏊‍♀️

When asked about joining Ellesmere College, Isabel said “I am excited to join Ellesmere because it gives me the opportunity to train with an amazing swim team, whilst being part of a great college community. I’m looking forward to pushing myself, meeting new people and seeing how far I can go in the sport I love.”

⚡️Sami⚡️

Sami joined Ellesmere College from in April 2023, midway through year 10. Over the course of the past 3 and a half years, Sami has become a staple member of the Swimming Academy. He would regularly set the standard in terms of when to arrive for sessions and showing the intent needed on his pre and post pool.🫡

Someone that would give any set a go and certainly a master of freestyle pull with paddles, he looks towards pastures new come the next academic year with Sami’s intention to swim and study halfway across the world in Australia.🦘

⚡️Archie⚡️

Archie joined Ellesmere College way back in 2020 when he was year 8. He has embarked on a journey from being a young Bolton lad through to the student-athlete he is today.👨‍🎓

Proficient across all 4 strokes and a multitude of distances, Archie has progressed across it all during his time at Ellesmere. A huge F1 fan and not afraid to make his own lane a fast one when stepping up from heats to final. Archie looks to continue his academic and sporting journey coming university in September.👏

⚡️Tyler⚡️

Tyler joined Ellesmere College from in late 2022, early on within year 10. He arrived with a desire to improve and see what level he could achieve, particularly in fly and free, whilst being dedicated to his studies at the same time.

Tyler went from strength to strength over his near 4 years at the College, improving across a whole host of distances and strokes. A student-athlete with a more than decent music taste and an interest in both modern and vintage timepieces. Tyler will continue his sporting journey come university in September.⌚️

From Aberdeen ➡️ Sheffield ➡️ Glasgow ➡️ Sheffield ➡️ Swansea. The curtain has come down on a superb season for Ellesmere College in and out of the pool.🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

Our fantastic student-athletes have done themselves, their support networks, team mates, coaches and College proud.👏

So much success over the past 11 months, from junior and senior titles, international call ups and the Ellesmere College staple of stepping up in a heat and moving it forwards again in the final, time and time again.📈
