I am a personable and professionally trained teacher of English - with a plethora of support/exam and progress related experiences! I have now either been teaching (3 years training/ 3 months active teaching) or supporting students for the last 10 years!

If you want to know more about me - Im currently writing and illustrating a number of childrens books i want to try and publish; im constantly writing poetry (in my free time), and tutoring happens to be 1 in 3/4 jobs that I do at the moment! Im a full time TA at Cathy High, I also am a private aide and I bake the odd special event cake for friends family and charity as well! I know it sounds like im spread thin - but i really do like to be kept busy - it makes me happy to be doing things for others!! :)

New year, new training - new opportunities to support a variety of students!
I now have secondary school experience of Speech and language based interventions, including High frequency word support, verbal phonics training+Speech and language expert directed 1:1 experience, handwriting intervention, Speech and language: communicating and oracy experience!
I have been delivering targeted support within school 1:1 with students during short 10-20minute sessions for a couple of weeks; that have already seen some marked improvements! Cant wait to see the improvements continue.

Secondary school tutoring offer:
I have a wealth of experience dealing with secondary age children...
1. I have worked as a TA since 2016 in a variety of schools in the Ellesmere Port area.
2. I am a qualified English teacher who has learned my craft at a variety of Chester based schools, meaning I have worked with a plethora of different students from different backgrounds.
3. I understand the mark scheme of the English papers, as well as understanding how to improve a child's score from one grade to another.
4. My main area of expertise is Literature and Poetry- I have a passion for reading and writing, and am a published poet. I feel this makes me incredibly creative when it comes to the kind of support I offer and am able to deliver.
5. I have training on dealing with the most vulnerable students, as well as those with Autism and ADHD - I have a personal understanding of both also... so I always find out about your child, what you want to achieve, as well as what they want to achieve- finding a path in the middle.
6. I can work out a tailored programme of 1 hour sessions to support most needs.
7. I provide homework support in math, English and science.

Primary school tutoring offer:

1. I have phonics training so can provide support for your childs speaking and reading skills.
2. I have a good understanding of various learning/sen needs; so I work in a play centred/relaxed way, this involves the child in learning in an inclusive way - the child learns without realising it!!
3. I provide my own materials and lessons; and will speak regularly to you about your view of your child's progress... as well as give you an idea what I think I can achieve with them.
4. My main area of expertise is improving year 6 children's reading and comprehension skills - i have a proven track record at Meadow Primary where my interventions supporting 13 children (who where on the pathway to fail their SAT comprehension paper), resulted in all 13 children getting a score of 100+!!!
5. I can provide multiple subject support if required... I have a wide range of abilities that cover Maths, Science, Art, History, Geography, RE and PSHE; not just English.

Im expanding my tutoring support to all primary years, including phonics support, and to let you know I have expanded my understanding of adhd, autism and other neurodivergance!
