Day 2 of the Edinburgh Book Festival trip was filled with learning, reading and lots of fun! All enjoyed fantastic events, meeting authors, getting books signed, enjoying Edinburgh and making new friends and connections. We counted the books we left Edinburgh with: an incredible 280! On our way home with tired, but happy pupils.

S4 pupils Innes, Jake and Lewis all represented the North District (Caledonia Reds) in the summer after being selected for the Scottish Rugby: Player Development Programme. They played matches against other districts during the summer break and played extremely well. Well done!

Dress Code
It was fantastic to see everyone back this week and looking smart. Overall the standard of Dress Code has been very high, which is a pleasure to see. We have had a few small teething issues which we would ask for your support with so please remember:
Colour – it’s plain black & white (not patterned). Grey is not part of the Dress Code. S6 can wear a navy jumper.
Logo size – one small logo no larger than a credit
Shoes – no Uggs
Suitable for a school environment - no large studded belts, wrist bands etc.
Lastly Coverage – no exposed midrifs, low cut tops etc.

The full dress code can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Lkhx8t2VOAudKeMFk5FlUFpD62UBm-gs/view

Many Thanks for your continued support.

Exam Results will arrive by post or electronically tomorrow. This is a big day for our seniors, and we wish them all the best.

Students who registered and activated a personal My Qualifications Scotland account, formerly MySQA, will receive their results by text message and/or email - texts and emails begin sending at 8am but can take several hours to arrive, so please do not panic if they don’t arrive at exactly 8am. Results will also arrive in the post via Royal Mail.

The Qualifications Scotland Learner Support Hub contains useful information and resources.
You can also visit the Results and Certificates webpage or contact Qualifications Scotland if you have questions about your results certificate:

• Telephone: 0345 279 1000
• Lines open from 8.00am on Results Day
• Email: [email protected]

Skills Development Scotland Results Helpline - SDS can provide advice to young people, parents and carers about:

• college and university course vacancies
• confirmation and clearing
• foundation, modern and graduate apprenticeships
• employment opportunities
• volunteering
• returning to, or remaining at, school

The Results Helpline number is: 0808 100 8000
Opening times:
• Tuesday 4th August: 8.00am–8.00pm
• Wednesday 5th August: 8.00am–8.00pm
• Thursday 6th August: 9.00am–5.00pm
• Friday 7th August: 9.00am–5.00pm

Young people can also visit a Skills Development Scotland centre to speak with an adviser. Further information is available through My World of Work Results Help.

Following exam results, some young people will want to discuss a change of course for the upcoming session. Arrangements will be made for these discussions on the first week back, and students should plan to follow their existing timetable until any changes are agreed.

Pastoral staff will discuss the appeals process with all pupils when they return to school for the new term. In the mean time, pupils can get all of the information they need about the appeals process here:

https://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/79049.html

Exam results are important but they are only part of the picture. There is always another way to get where you want to go, and support is available to you, no matter how your results go. Please do utilise support if you need it. Be proud of what you have achieved!
