Elgin Speakers Club Members are assisted in this journey, by having the opportunity to progress through a structured programme of 10 speech assignments.

Elgin Speakers Club is aimed at all levels of speakers, from those who have been blessed with a natural ability to speak confidently in public to the vast majority of us who need to practice this skill. When a new member joins the club, th

ey are given advice and support which helps them build up their confidence to progress from speaking for short periods of time, to eventually delivering a well structured speech to a large audience. In developing their skills, participants receive feedback from more experienced club members who have themselves gained the confidence needed to overcome their own fears and become accomplished speakers. This is one of the distinctive features of the Association of Speakers Clubs. Each speech assignment focuses on a different aspect of public speaking which allows members to progress to the next level only when they feel ready to do so. On successful completion of the 10 speech assignments, members will be awarded a certificate of achievement. Club meetings are split into two main sessions. The first session provides members with an opportunity to deliver a prepared speech at one of the above levels. Speeches are then evaluated before a break for refreshments. The second session gives everyone the opportunity to participate in speaking games, mini debates and practicing impromptu replies to popular questions. Irrespective of whether you are a student wishing to express your thoughts more clearly in the lecture theatre, presently out of work and looking to develop your competitive edge at your next interview, struggling to make an impression at work or even just having been asked to deliver the best man’s speech at your friend’s big day; Elgin Speakers Club can help you!

🚀 Elgin Speakers Club is heading into the final stretch of the 2026 season!

We had a fantastic session on Wednesday 04 March at Bishopmill Hall, Elgin, and we’re looking forward to making the most of the last few meetings before the summer break.

There are now just three meetings remaining this season, with the next one taking place on Wednesday 18 March. If you’ve been thinking about coming along, now is the perfect time to join us before we wrap up for the summer.

🚀 Elgin Speakers Club is powering through the 2026 season!

We had a fantastic session on 18 February at Bishopmill Hall, Elgin, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going.

Our meetings continue every two weeks right through to April before our summer break, and there’s still plenty of time to get involved, we’d love to welcome new faces.
