CELEBRATING OUR STUDENTS!
This week we are celebrating Faith Davidson! Faith attended the British School Championships 2025 for Judo at Sheffield over the weekend, as an official. She worked hard for the British Judo Association and was able to meet many new people. Faith did a fantastic job working alongside officials, and an Olympian, who gave a master class!

A reminder about our weekly intervention sessions running for year 11.
Please note - Mrs Sunter and Mr Garvie are running additional English intervention sessions after school on Friday.
YEAR 11 INTERVENTION
As we move closer to the exam window we have explored a range of intervention strategies that best support our students to develop their skills, knowledge and success.
For this reason core subjects will run both open intervention and targeted intervention (where smaller groups are pulled during tutor for a short period of time to work on a specific skill).
Parents will receive information from the subject when their child is selected for a targeted group, which changes frequently over future months. Additionally, by running these sessions in the morning it means that our students can access intervention for their other subjects after school.
We have already seen some fantastic sessions take place and are proud of our passionate staff and students for their determination to succeed.
Please contact the head of department for a subject of you have any questions.
⭐️ WORK EXPERIENCE ⭐️
Some of our year 10 students had an incredible week during their work experience, exploring places that piqued their interest in life after school.
Our adventure began with a fantastic visit to the Whitehaven fire station, where students enjoyed a tour and hands-on experience.
Next, on the Tuesday, we immersed ourselves in the wonders of Lakeland Wildlife Park, feeding and learning about the animals.
The journey continued on Wednesday to Workington town centre, where students demonstrated independence by exploring shops and making purchases in small groups. We then planned a delightful trip to the cinema.
Maryport Aquarium welcomed us on Thursday with an enlightening tour, introducing students to the many fish species and other aquatic creatures that inhabit our waters. Followed by our visit to Lakes College showcased the diverse educational programs available for our students.
We concluded our eventful week with a trip to Egremont Coop and Herons, where students budgeted, created shopping lists, and purchased picnic supplies. Their hard work culminated in a fun outing to the Core.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported and contributed to our wonderful week. Hopefully, all our Year 10 students had an amazing experience, and I can't wait to hear all about their adventures.
