Y6 Leavers Assembly Tonight 🎉
What a brilliant performance — so funny and full of memories! We hope the tears were happy ones, reflecting just how far all the children have come. A special evening with wonderful memories for everyone.
A special thank you to Mrs. Wolfenden and Mr. P for putting it all together so beautifully. 💫👏

As we look ahead to celebrating our amazing Year 6 leavers at the end of the academic year, I came across this photo and couldn’t help but reflect on how every school journey begins.
From those first nervous steps into the classroom to the confident learners they’ve become — it all starts here. What a reminder of how far children go in Primary School. 🌟

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported our Summer Fair! We certainly had the weather 💛
Thank you to the FOBs, staff, governors for their support in running the stalls. We couldn’t have done it without you! THANK YOU!
Let’s hope this sunshine carries on after next Friday!!

Our Year 6 children took part in Bikeability - an important cycling scheme designed to keep them safe on the roads. They practised basic bike handling, signalling, and understanding road signs. As part of the training, they also gained confidence in navigating different types of traffic situations, both in controlled environments and on real roads. By the end of the program, students were better equipped to ride safely and responsibly, with a greater awareness of road safety and the rules of the road. Thank you to Nick and Chris from Cyclewise for delivering the training.

Year 4 were the lucky winners of a school raffle and got the chance to visit the Tall Ship in Whitehaven today! ⚓️. The Galeón Andalucía, a stunning replica of a 17th-century Spanish galleon, is docked in Whitehaven Harbour until Sunday.
The class had a fantastic time going around the ship — the sun was shining and the crew were incredibly welcoming. 🌞
Thankfully, there were no pirates in sight… this time! 🏴☠️😉

– Back to 1981
Another mix this week of old photographs and, hopefully, some cherished memories. Whether you were there or just love the old pictures, we hope these images spark a smile or two.😀

We spent some time tidying up to make sure the castle looks its best — and it really does now! 💚
While we were there, we chatted about how much everyone enjoys visiting this beautiful place. It doesn’t take much to keep it looking great — if everyone who visits simply takes their litter away, it makes a big difference.
Let’s all do our bit to protect and respect this special spot. 🙌

What an incredible day with Wonderdome! All our classes had the chance to experience this fantastic mobile planetarium — and it did not disappoint! From exploring the stars to diving into the depths of space, it was a truly out-of-this-world adventure for everyone.
Thank you to Wonderdome for bringing the universe to Bookwell! 🚀✨
Also a huge thank you to FOBs for funding this opportunity for our pupils. Your support means the world to us!

With all the school trips happening, I stumbled across these blast from the past — I think they are from 1987, maybe a trip to Ayr?
Check out those classic BNF Sellafield hats — does anyone still have theirs tucked away somewhere? 😄
Would love to hear if anyone remembers this trip or spots a familiar face in these photos! 🚌✨

This morning, the Year 6 children who are transitioning to West Lakes Academy visited WLA to do some art with Miss Blackburn and have a tour with Miss Fell and Miss Cowan. Their new Head of Year, Mrs Williamson, checked in on them too. They had a lovely time and received lots of compliments on their behaviour and their good manners. Well done, Year 6! A big thank you to the WLA staff who gave up their time to make the children feel welcome.
