From Early Childhood through to High School, our world-renowned International Baccalaureate curriculum

Situated on a 20-acre campus approximately 25 miles from central London, ACS Egham enrols around 550 students between the ages of 4 and 18, Early Childhood through High School. ACS Egham was the first IB World School in the UK to offer all four International Baccalaureate programmes, spanning the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years, Middle Years, and the Diploma and the IB Careers-related Certificate (IBCC). The school has purpose-built computer labs, libraries, spacious classrooms, playgrounds and sports fields, Visual Arts & Design Technology Centre, Science Wing, IB Diploma Centre and a new state-of-the-art sports facility.

This week at ACS Egham 🌟 (28 Sep–2 Oct)

Another busy week across campus!
Our Model United Nations students got together for a practice session, sharpening their debate and diplomacy skills ahead of upcoming conferences.

Grade 2 took drama lessons outdoors this week, performing in our very own Amphitheatre - bringing stories to life under the open sky.

Grade 3 headed off campus for a field trip to the British Museum, where they got to see the Bayeux Tapestry up close - a rare chance to connect classroom learning with history on a grand scale.

Our Middle School Girls’ football team put in the work at practice this week, building up skills and teamwork ahead of their next matches. ⚽

And what a finish for our Middle School Girls’ volleyball team! Up against TASIS, they found themselves behind for most of the match - but in the final five minutes, they rallied with a stunning run of points to win 25–23. So proud of their resilience and fight right to the very last point! 🏐🔥

Professional development, but make it speed dating. 💘🕯️

At ACS Egham, high-quality learning means students taking part in authentic, inquiry-based learning. In our Middle Years Programme (Years 7-11), one way we do this is through interdisciplinary learning, helping students make connections across subjects and tackle real-world problems.

This evening, our MYP educators swapped the usual meeting for candlelit "Interdisciplinary Unit Speed Dating." 🕯️
Hear Matt, our MYP Coordinator, explain the idea in 15 seconds, then watch the conversations unfold as teachers pitched, paired up and sparked new ideas.

The proof it worked? We caught Helly and Sarah still chatting in the car park at 5:30, deep in a discussion about how data in political campaigns (Science) could connect with social change (Drama's Theatre of the Oppressed unit). 🎭🔬

Lifelong learning is at the heart of the IB ethos, and our educators are the epitome of lifelong learners. 📚

Our football season is officially underway, with training kicking off this week!

In Visual Art, our students explored two very different corners of modern art history. Grade 5 studied the bold, geometric work of Sonia Delaunay and Vera Molnar then took it a step further, writing their own computer programs on a generative art platform to recreate her style digitally. A brilliant blend of critical and creative thinking in one project!

Grade 7 turned their attention to pioneering British modernist sculptor Barbara Hepworth, exploring her innovative use of abstraction, carving, construction, and negative space. Students examined how Hepworth’s experimentation challenged traditional ideas of sculpture - and imagined how adapting one of her techniques might lead to something entirely their own.

On the pitch, our Middle School boys took on ASL in an exciting football match. ⚽

And we closed out the week in style with our annual University Fair on Friday! Nearly 30 world-renowned universities and institutions joined us on campus, filling the hall with energy as our Upper School students connected directly with admissions officers. 🎓🌍

Welcome Back BBQ & Bake Off! 🍔🍰
What a wonderful Saturday afternoon!
Thank you to all the families, faculty, and staff who joined us for our annual Welcome Back BBQ & Bake Off. 🎉

There was something for everyone: sizzling burgers, fresh popcorn, the bouncy castle, a Judo experience, and the ball pool. And of course, the highlight of the day, our Bake Off competition, where the creativity and talent on display had everyone drooling! 🧁
A very special thank you to Ed, one of our wonderful parent volunteers, who organised the event and led the whole volunteer team with such energy and care.
Thank you also to every parent volunteer who gave their time to make the day possible. We couldn’t have done it without you! 👏💛

Events like this remind us what makes our school special: a community that comes together to celebrate, connect, and have fun. Thank you for making the start of the year so memorable!

WEEKLY ROUNDUP✨

Our Grade 3 students stepped into the Upper School Science Lab for the first time this week! Mr. Roberts, our Upper School Science teacher, reminded them that real science isn’t about wow-factor experiments - it’s about research, data, and the joy of discovery. His lesson, ‘Do we all grow the same way?’, had students trace and cut out their own hands, measure their hand length and height, and pin their results to the wall to form a living graph. At the end, he told them: ‘You are researchers!’ - a brilliant first taste of what real scientific discovery feels like. 🔬📊
Meanwhile, our Upper School girls’ volleyball team faced Marymount International 🏐
Every player showed up for each other, even if when the score wasn’t in their favour, and it paid off with a well-earned win! 🙌

And our ACS Egham parent community kept just as busy: a scenic walk through Virginia Water, a Cheese & W**e evening for parent volunteers, and a Coffee & Cake volunteer meeting. 🍷🍰
