Bags of Compassion for St Columba’s Hospice
What an incredible Sunday morning! A wonderful group of women came together to sew bags for St Columba’s Hospice. We made 12 bags in a single morning.
Sewing, laughing, learning, supporting — this is what community looks like ❤️
A massive thank you in Portobello for gifting us their beautiful space, and for the delicious pastries and coffee that kept us going! ☕🥐
And the biggest thank you of all to every single lady who gave up their Sunday morning for such a worthy cause. Your time, your skills, and your warm hearts mean everything.

Four pieces on the go, two of them absolute antique gems — an Arts & Crafts bench and a Victorian nursing chair, both being lovingly stripped back and brought back to life.
Two and a half hours of serious elbow grease, and these beauties are well on their way.
There’s something deeply satisfying about getting your hands into a piece of furniture that has a century of stories to tell — and knowing you’re the one giving it the next chapter.
Our upholstery courses are hands-on, historical, and addictive. Real antique pieces. Real traditional techniques. Real sore arms the next morning.

From nervous beginners to proud makers in just 2 classes! 🧵
These four incredible ladies walked through the door with zero sewing experience — and left with a beautiful cushion complete with a zip to show for it. I couldn’t be more proud of what they achieved!
Learning to sew is about so much more than fabric and thread. It’s the concentration, the little victories, the “I actually did that!” moment when it all comes together. That’s what keeps me doing what I do. 🩷
