Congratulations to our FP Isla Perris (Class of 2022) on winning the 2026 Ryder Bursary! 🎉

The bursary is presented to an architecture student for their outstanding work in both university and in practice.

Isla, who's currently studying architecture at the Glasgow School of Art's Macintosh School of Architecture, was awarded the bursary after completing a year-long placement with Ryder Architecture.

We caught up with Isla to chat about what the bursary means to her, how she fell in love with architecture and her time at ESM.

We've had some incredible accomplishments on the hockey pitch recently! 🏑

Here's a quick round-up:

James (S6) represented Scotland Aspiring at the U18 8 Nations Tournament in Granada, Spain.

Struan (S5) and Alexander (S5) represented Scotland Emerging Boys at the Under 16 8 Nations Tournament in Walcz, Poland.

Holly (S5) and recent FP Connor Wardlaw (Class of 2026) played for the Scotland Under 18 teams in the UK School Games National Finals held at Loughborough University.

Larissa (S6), Ellie (S5) and FP Jojo Hirst (Class of 2026) represented Scotland at the Under 18 8 Nations Tournament in Granada, Spain.

Congratulations to all the players! We're so proud of them. 😊

Our 1st XV Rugby team's Saturday home game has been selected as Scottish Rugby Match of the Week! 📣🏉

The game will be live streamed on Scottish Rugby's YouTube channel with commentary and in-game highlights.

It's an honour to be selected and reflects the hard work our coaches have put into developing such a strong rugby programme.

The programme's success also wouldn't be possible without our sponsor Lismore Real Estate Advisors. The support from the team at Lismore (pictured here with our 1st XV captains) ensures our students achieve their athletic ambitions.

We can't wait to see everyone out on Saturday cheering the team on as they face Stirling County RFC.

We recently welcomed our philanthropic partners from the Melville College Trust to our new Queensferry Road campus to see the impact of their incredible £1 million donation.

Principal Anthony Simpson gave Chair Stephen Paterson and Vice Chair Tommy Bryson a tour of the transformed facilities, including the Melville Wellbeing Hub, upgraded gym facilities, the Wallace Dunlop S6 Centre and Futures+, and the newly named Dr Norma & Sir Fraser Stoddart Science, Innovation and Technology Centre.

Thank you to the Melville College Trust for their generosity and continued support of our students and School community.

Our skiers shredded the slopes this past weekend competing at the Scottish Dry Slope Championships 2026! ⛷️

The whole team delivered an incredible performance but special congratulations to Tommy (S5) for finishing 2nd in the Under-18 Slalom, Owen (S3) for finishing 2nd in the Under-16 Slalom and Giant Slalom, and León (S2) for finishing 2nd in the Under-14 Giant Slalom.
