The Parent Council and the P7s will be running a bake sale during the Parent Teacher Consultations on:

Tuesday 24 March, 3:30–6:30pm

Friday 27 March, 1:00–4:00pm

We Need you to help make it a success!

Can you make or bring along something tasty?

Can you spare a little time to help on the stall?

Or simply stop by during your visit and pick up a treat to take home!

All funds raised will support the P7 end‑of‑year leavers’ celebrations.

If you’re donating homemade baking, please no nuts, and supply an ingredients list.

There will also be school uniforms available on the day.
To get involved, text Linda on 07521 158115 or email [email protected].

Sharing notice from Police Scotland: We are working with the military as part of a planned exercise and tomorrow (Tuesday 3 March), armed policing will be involved in a fi****ms training scenario at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

This means you may see armed police officers and military personnel, as well as military helicopters, arriving at Murrayfield Stadium.

You will hear blank ammunition, which sounds like gun shots, being used from around 1.30pm – 2.30pm.

There will be no public access to Murrayfield during this time and nothing will be seen once those involved are inside the grounds.

Exercises are a crucial way for different organisations to learn, share knowledge and work well together. It’s important for exercises to be as realistic as possible to fully test a multi-agency response. In real life, this could save lives and prevent further injuries. This activity is part of Exercise Kukri Dawn, led by the RAF, which previously took place in 2025 RAF Odiham and has been planned for months.

We are working with the stadium who have notified residents in the surrounding area.

Hope everyone is keeping warm and well! There's no stopping the momentum on site, and during February we will be continuing to clear the area for developing our medicinal herb garden with Napiers, and the orchard kindly funded by Scotmid🌿🌳

The volunteer days below will be perfect for anyone keen to put practical and creative building skills to use, with plenty of good old digging and getting muddy too🧑‍🌾🥾

Please come along and join the Tynecastle High School Parent and Carer Council at their annual Burns Night and Ceilidh!

All parents, carers, staff members and friends at the four feeder primary schools (Dalry being one!) are warmly invited to join us for this fun, community event. This will be held in the High School on Friday 23 January 2026, 6.30-10.30pm.

*Tickets are on sale now* so please come along! We would love to see you there.

Tickets are only £2 for under 18s, £5 for adults or £12 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2+ children). (Contact us if there are any issues for you with the cost and we'll try to help). All ages welcome.

There will be traditional entertainment celebrating Robert Burns and showcasing our talented pupils and staff, music and dancing with the Ceilidh Caleerie Dance Band, and a light buffet. You don't need to know anything about Robert Burns or ceilidh dancing, as everything will be explained, including the dances.

We will also be holding a raffle with a wide range of great prizes, and soft drinks will be on sale. Doors open at 6.30pm (all to be seated by 7) and the event ends at 10.30pm.

Just fill in the below google form with the number of tickets required and your details. We will then email you a link to make your payment. (Or there is a QR code on the poster.)

*Friends of Dalry Community Park*

We have arranged another meeting for this Monday January 12th, 7pm- 8.30pm at St Bride's Community Centre, 10 Orwell Terrace.

All welcome.

This a chance to follow up with the Project Manager on issues that we raised in the meeting last year.

Please feel free to share suggested agenda items. Below are a few from my inbox:

🗑️ Bins and litter
🫟 Graffiti
🐾 Muddy desire line
⛔ Duff Street entrance

I'm also wondering if we could look to arrange a community event in the park in the spring or summer so looking for ideas on what that would look like and a working group to take it forward.

Please see the Agenda for our next meeting which will be held on Monday 1st December at Gorgie and Palmerston Place Church

November Parent Council Update

It was a great pleasure to go along to school today as a representative of the Parent and Carers Council to see all our P7’s in their brand new ‘Class of 26’ hoodies. Many thanks to all of those who helped make this possible. This includes everyone who supported our Bake Sale at the Parent Teacher interviews, the staff at Dalry, and the PCC would like to make an extra big THANK YOU to Alex from Throat Punch Coffee Co on Dalry road for sourcing the hoodies and making a financial donation towards them as well.

It is a busy time of year for the PCC. We just had a great market stall at the Craiglockhart Parent & Carer Council Christmas Market, and our elves are busy behind the scenes wrapping books for the P1-P3 students. We are also getting the snack organised for the Cinema trip.

Ways you can help: If you are doing any online shopping you can sign up to Easy Fundraising and select ‘Dalry Primary PC- Edinburgh’. Then before you start shopping just login to Easy Fundraising and go to your preferred retailer through their search bar. There is no cost to you but every shop will earn money for Dalry Primary.

Toy donations: If you are doing a clear out of toys you can donate good quality toys and games to the PCC, we will use them at our next market stall. Just label any donations with ‘Parent Council’ and leave them at the school.

If you have other ideas about fundraising or want to get more involved please email [email protected] or come along to our next meeting on the 21st January.
