Hello everyone and welcome back to semester 2! 🥳 I hope you all had great holidays and are ready to start uni again! As a little reminder, we've created a poster of what to expect (and what not to expect) when participating in a SocPALs session, just so that no one gets disappointed! We're going to start planning our sessions for this semester very soon, so stay tuned for information on our next sessions! 😄

We would also like to thank everyone who took the time to answer our survey about what you would like to see in our sessions this semester, this will really help us tailor our sessions to your need! 🙌

Welcome to our first session for second semester! Sorry it took us a while to get everything started, but we're back and starting strong with an essay writing session 📃! This session will be hosted through Collaborate on the 10th of February at 2pm. You do not need to book, you can just access the session via the SPS peer learning hub on Learn!

With your mid-term essay coming soon, if you feel a bit lost or don't really know where to start yet, this session is for you! We will discuss general guidance on academic essay writing, structuring
and referencing. The aim of this session will be to help you build on skillsyou gained throughout the first semester! We will also facilitate adiscussion around any general essay-writing questions you may have.

We're also hosting a second essay writing session just a week after this one (the 17th of February) that will be a little bit less formal, more oriented towards chatting with your peers about the essay questions you intend to write about. Stay tuned for the advertising of this session and more details on it soon!
