We are delighted to announce the upcoming programme of exhibitions, events and performances kicking off 2026 showcasing different collaborations spanning creative practice and research and exploring AI, technology and data through immersive and interactive photography, installation and performance.

Felicity Hammond’s END-OF-LIFE-SERVICE by in collaboration with AND is an experimental and playful event in the form of a funeral procession and an early evening wake where you are encouraged to explore the challenges of AI, and to create and share your eulogies to it.

created by .sumlacs, invites you to consider incremental effect with regards to environmental concerns, locally and globally, through reflection on natural methods of connection, communication and movement.

Ecstatic Visions a live album concert performance by soprano Stephanie Lamprea and electronic musician Alistair MacDonald, presents a curated exploration of feminine vocality, technology, and creation myths, featuring video art by .asta Oana Stanciu and creative captions by Lamprea.

Announcing the last week of Digital Ghosts Exhibition at

Running from tomorrow (Wednesday), and open daily 10:00-17:00, until this Sunday the 16th November. Visit Inspace to step into the forgotten corners of the internet!

About exhibition
The main commissioned centerpiece, by multimedia artist Dorsey Kaufmann , and creative technologist at data visualisation studio Feeling Data, is a durational artwork visualising the life and death of websites through the exposure of cyanotype prints to light. Last week, this 120-hour durational artwork was gradually revealed through exposure to UV light.

Come along to Inspace this week to see the final artwork which leaves behind only static artefacts as evidence of the act of exposure and to go on a reflective journey to explore real web archive data and question what’s preserved, what’s lost, and who decides what’s worth remembering?

This main commissioned centrepiece sits alongside artworks first created by MSc students Mansi Manoj, Qianhui Meng, and Shuyu Zhang, under the supervision of Dorsey Kaufmann and adapted and expanded for public interaction by data visualization studio Feeling Data.

Digital Ghosts is the outcome of an interdisciplinary project led by Dr Andrea Kocsis and is partially funded by the ESRC: Economic and Social Research Council Festival of Social Science, the National Library of Scotland, the The British Academy and the The Leverhulme Trust, with support from the Institute for Design Informatics, Inspace and Edinburgh Futures Institute. This programme is part of the Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 6 – 15 November 2025.

We are delighted to launch Digital Ghosts exhibition this week as part of the ✨ Festival of Science Science✨ and ✨✨, celebrating humanities research.

For this week and weekend only, visit the exhibition to experience the main centerpiece of the exhibition, a durational artwork that visualizes the life and death of websites through the exposure of cyanotype prints to light. Over the course of this week, this 120-hour durational artwork will gradually be revealed. Come along to Inspace this weekend to see this work in process before the cured prints are revealed next week.

✨Authenticity Unmasked: Artist Spotlight

We are delighted to introduce , one of three featured artists for Authenticity Unmasked: Unveiling AI-Driven Realities Through Art exhibition, featuring new work presenting a series of characters embodying AI systems, telling short stories drawing from real world examples of anomalous AI behaviours, including trickster tall tales and meandering jokes about “reward hacking”.

Artist Bio
dmstfctn, (f.k.a Demystification Committee), is a London-based duo formed by Oliver Smith and Francesco Tacchini, working with installation, performance, films, and video games. Their work has focused on opaque systems of technology and power, most recently looking at anomalies in artificial intelligence. dmstfctn often directly involve audiences in their work, inviting them into the ‘demystification’ of systems by replicating and replaying them together, and into their ‘remystification’ by building worlds, characters and myths atop them.

✨Authenticity Unmasked: Artist Spotlight

We are delighted to introduce , one of three featured artists for Authenticity Unmasked: Unveiling AI-Driven Realities Through Art exhibition, featuring new work that explores how artificial intelligence, weather systems, and mapping technologies shape our understanding of territory and power.

Artist Bio
Kinnari Saraiya (b. Bombay, based in London) is an artist, curator, writer and thinker of the colonial present. She works within the gaps in knowledge, the inaccuracies of interpretations, the mistranslations of a text, where myth weaves around a historical narrative forcing the collision of pre-humanist thought and posthumanist desire. Through the recovery and binding of ancient and new tools, resources, and technologies, her work constructs a portal, a time capsule that helps define, find, create, escape, and imagine a fluid future.

✨Authenticity Unmasked: Artist Spotlight

We are delighted to introduce , one of three featured artists for Authenticity Unmasked: Unveiling AI-Driven Realities Through Art exhibition, featuring new artwork exploring discipline and love in classical music and the disembodied mimicry of generative AI in art and its affective impact.

Artist Bio
Georgia Gardner is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher from Scotland, working with research-driven performance, video, sound, and writing. Georgia’s practice explores embodiment, (dis)obedience, and intersecting forms of reproduction that create a social template for success. This template instigates a rhythm of other-oriented striving and quiets self-conceptions of worthiness. Queering this template that often correlates otherness with failure, Georgia’s practice spends time with our everyday, embodied, and empathetic rebellions.
