Coming Soon! Reading Writing and Numbers with Orienteering !

Today staff were on an Orienteering for Educators course with the Scottish Orienteering Association. We all learned how to teach orienteering in a fun-filled way. We’re excited about running these sessions with our learners in the coming months! .

Last week (25th of February), members of the Gilmerton Group and a couple from the Valley Park group visited The Real Mary King's Close. We were treated to an excellent tour where we explored working-class life in the 1700s.

The adult literacies group enjoyed a festive evening out at Christmas at the Botanics, taking in the sparkling light displays and seasonal atmosphere.
A great way to end the term.

Come along to our First Steps Into Learning Courses. These are great opportunities for adults who would like to get back into learning but aren't sure where to start. Courses are running in Leith, Craingmillar, and Goodtrees Neighborhoud centre.

Edinburgh City Council‘s Multiply Programme ran a Numeracy in Nature workshop in partnership with Edinburgh Zoo. Learners had a great time finding out a range of interesting things about the natural world using numbers. The session was then capped off with an excellent guided tour of the Penguins and Capybaras. Edinburgh City Council’s, Adult Literacies team took their Learners to see a production of War Horse at the Festival Theatre. Much of the learning they have been engaged in centred around this book. It was a truly powerful performance and wonderful way to celebrate our Learning.

Since the end of last year, Multiply have been involved with Screen Education Edinburgh who have been filming our groups with the overall aim of putting together a film to show the achievements of the Multiply project and all of our learners.

A few weeks ago we had our film launch at Edinburgh City Chambers and we are now able to share the finished product.
