What a fantastic day we had at Forge Mill Farm! Our little explorers from Tiney Home Port Loop had so much fun getting up close with the animals — feeding goats, sheep, chickens, and even cows! 🐑🐓🐮

We talked about where food comes from, what animals like to eat, and how to be gentle and kind with them. The children were so caring and curious — little farmers in the making! 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

And the highlight of the day? 🌻 Picking our very own sunflowers to take home for our grown-ups! The kids were so proud to bring back a little piece of the farm for you 💛

Starting this September, eligible working families in England can access 30 hours of free childcare per week for children from 9 months old until they start school! 🎉

This is the final phase of the childcare expansion — designed to support your child’s early development AND help you balance work and family life 💼❤️ It could save families up to £7,500 a year! 💷🙌

Here’s what you need to do:
✅ Check if you're eligible – Working families with children aged 9 months to school age
✅ Apply via GOV.UK – Get your childcare code
✅ Apply by 31 August – To start using your hours from 1 September
✅ Speak to your childcare provider – Confirm they offer the funded hours
✅ Keep your code up to date – Reconfirm every 3 months (you’ll get a reminder!)

There’s nothing better than learning through messy play! Today at Tiney Home Port Loop, our little explorers had a blast rescuing animals 🐾 trapped in jelly 🍓!

With curious hands 🙌 and giggles all around 😄, the kids dug deep, squished, squeezed, and wobbled their way to “free” the animals stuck inside. Not only was it a sensory delight 🎨, but it also sparked teamwork 🤝, problem-solving 🧠, and lots of imaginative storytelling 🌈 — who knew a jelly jungle 🍧 could be so exciting?

After all that jelly fun, it was time to splash and play in soapy water 🫧🫧, washing the animals — and their hands — clean again! The bubbles brought just as many smiles 😄 as they scrubbed away the mess and extended the fun with water play 💦.

What a fantastic day out we had at Oak Tree Children’s Farm!

Our little adventurers from Tiney Home Port Loop loved every moment – from feeding the friendly chickens, sheep, goats, donkeys, and pigs, to simply enjoying the fresh air and countryside vibes. Watching their excitement as they interacted with the animals was truly heartwarming.

These hands-on experiences help children learn about the world around them in such a fun and natural way – and today was definitely one to remember!

This week, our little ones were beyond excited to meet a very special guest… the Easter Bunny!

There were giggles, cuddles, and lots of hopping fun as we hunted for colorful eggs and shared some sweet springtime stories. It was a joyful day full of wonder, smiles, and a sprinkle of Easter magic!

🌸 Mother’s Day Craft at Tiney Home Port Loop! 🌸

Today, the children had a blast creating special Mother’s Day gifts by painting their hands and printing them onto cardboard to make beautiful handprint flowers! 🌼 They loved the fun of getting messy with paint and seeing their handprints come to life as colorful flowers.

We then “planted” their handprint flowers into small pots, to create a unique and heartfelt gift for their mums. 💖

The kids are so excited to surprise their mums with these handmade treasures! 🎨🌿

Today at Tiney Home Port Loop, our little learners had so much fun with numbers! 🧮 Our amazing key worker drew numbers on the board, and the children excitedly guessed each one before practicing their own writing. It’s wonderful to see them building confidence with early numeracy skills in such a creative and interactive way! 🎉

This week, our little learners have been diving into the classic tale of The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 🐛🍎🍊 From munching through delicious pretend snacks to discovering the magic of metamorphosis, our storytime has been full of giggles, curiosity, and imagination.

Reading together not only sparks a love for books but also helps develop language, creativity, and social skills. We love seeing our little bookworms so engaged! 📖💡

Our little explorers had an amazing day out at Birmingham Settlement in Edgbaston!

🔎 The children took part in an exciting scavenger hunt, searching high and low for hidden treasures while learning about nature along the way.

🪿 After all that adventuring, we took a peaceful moment to feed the geese, watching them waddle and swim while we chatted about wildlife and the changing seasons.

Outdoor fun, fresh air, and happy little faces—what more could we ask for? 💛✨
