Divya is learning electrics at our Manchester centre and she was more than happy to discuss her experience moving from an office role and learning electrics as a woman.

If you’re on the fence about taking the plunge into an industry that does feel intimidating to you, then we hope she can inspire confidence for you to take that plunge!

Is that dream role an electrician, gas engineer or plumber? Then reach out to us!

Over the last few weeks we have had some engineers from Joybuy learning at our centre in Welwyn Garden City.

They’ve been learning how to install hobs and ovens into people’s homes on an existing electrical system and also how to do safe isolation testing.

Brian our head electrical tutor was on the scene and helping them get through the course. He gave us a little insight on what’s been going on, take a look!

Also heres a snippet of what Joybuy had to say about their time with us:
’Feedback from JD colleagues has been consistently positive, reflecting the value of the
training and the confidence they have gained through completing the course.

The training has supported our goal of developing a safe, competent and consistent
installation service by strengthening our installation capability and supporting the quality of
service we aim to provide to our customers. ‘

Two of our plumbing & gas tutors, Adam and Stuart, went head to head!

The challenge was to get the letters G & S as best as they could with one piece of copper pipe.
How do you think they did? Do you think you could do any better?

Our new centre in Maidstone is open!

We headed over to see one of the first gas classes which were being taught by Stuart.

He was walking the students through testing a gas meter with a manometer and how sensitive that process can be.

Maths can be very off putting for alot of people in any industry or subject.

Electrics does initially seem quite maths heavy but it’s not nearly as bad as you might think.
Tom Ireson who teaches for us in Bristol, breaks down one of the examples of maths you will get to know when doing our electrics course.

Is maths the hurdle that stops you from taking the first step? Our tutors will help break it down for you and you will know it like the back of your hand in no time!
