❤️ The reason behind Ready, Steady, Play!

This is my son, and he’s the inspiration behind our SEN-friendly sessions.

Although he’s older, he still absolutely loves playing with cars, tracks and imaginative toys. As he’s grown up, I’ve realised there are very few activities that cater for older children and young people with additional needs who simply want a safe, welcoming place to play without feeling judged or out of place.

That’s why I started Ready, Steady, Play!

I wanted to create a space where children and young people of all abilities can enjoy playing at their own pace, build confidence, make friends and, most importantly, have fun. There are no expectations, no pressure—just a friendly, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome.

If you’re looking for an SEN-friendly play session where your child can feel comfortable being themselves, we’d love to welcome you.

Mrs James is passionate about making the DofE Award accessible, inclusive and achievable for all our students. By adapting activities, offering constant encouragement and supporting our students to overcome personal challenges, Mrs James helps ensure that every young person has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.
The impact is profound. Through their DofE journey, our students develop greater independence, resilience, self-belief and ambition, often exceeding expectations they once thought were beyond their reach.

As another incredible school year comes to an end, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly memorable year.

From wonderful memories and exciting experiences to fantastic achievements and milestones, we're so proud of everything our pupils have accomplished. A special goodbye goes to our 2026 Leavers, it's been a privilege to watch you grow and flourish into the incredible young people you are today. We know you're going to smash your next adventures, and we can't wait to see all that you achieve!

This year also brings some heartfelt goodbyes to four amazing members of staff. Whether you're embarking on exciting new adventures or enjoying a well-earned retirement, thank you for your dedication, care, and the lasting impact you've made on our school community. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you every happiness for the future.

As you begin the next exciting chapter of your journey, we want to wish each and every one of you the very best of luck. It has been a privilege to nurture you and watch you grow, flourish, and develop into the amazing young people you are today.

You have filled our days with laughter, curiosity, kindness, and unforgettable memories. While we will miss you, we are incredibly proud of all you have achieved and have every confidence that you will continue to shine wherever your next adventure takes you.

Hello listeners

Welcome to the 1st of this weeks episodes of WHR. In this weeks episode we divulge what is going on at Walton Hall this coming week as we get ready for the summer performance of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' and Sports Day... hooray!!!

We also have the usual suspects with their wonderful sections and it is especially good to have Evie back telling us what is going on at Stafford Rangers. It's also a very sad show as Morgan says goodbye and does his last review as it's his last Monday before he leaves- and all the WHR gurus wish him the very best in his new venture... please stay in touch Morgan!

We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Summer Fayre yesterday, what an incredible day! 🎉
From motor vehicles and archery to Miss Lucy bravely cutting her hair for charity, plus games, stalls, and so much more, it was a day full of fun and community spirit.
