Thank you to Sr Anna and Sr Linda for joining us yesterday for our Confirmation Celebration with Year 8 confirmed candidates. It was wonderful to end the school year reminding pupils of the gifts of the Holy Spirit they received back in May, guiding them on how they can use these to spread the good news when they return in Year 9.

Last week our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award participants completed their expedition, walking from Rivington to Bibby's Farm Campsite. Over the two days, students navigated their routes using maps and compasses, carried all their own equipment, and worked together to overcome the challenges of the expedition.

Throughout the weekend, students demonstrated excellent resilience, teamwork and determination. Despite the physical challenge of carrying heavy rucksacks and walking several kilometres across varied terrain, they supported one another, remained positive and developed valuable outdoor skills. At the campsite, pupils pitched their own tents, cooked their evening meals on camping stoves and took responsibility for looking after themselves and their equipment.

The expedition was a fantastic opportunity for students to build resilience, independence and problem-solving skills while enjoying the beautiful countryside. Staff were incredibly proud of the maturity, perseverance and positive attitude shown by every participant.

A huge thank you goes to all the staff who gave up their time to support the expedition and help make it such a successful and enjoyable experience. We wish all of our Bronze participants the very best of luck in going on to complete both silver and gold.

Yesterday we celebrated our annual Mission Day with a variety of activities taking place across our school community, each linked to one of our school values: Truth, Resilience, Service, Love and Faith.

Throughout the day, our pupils and staff took part in a range of meaningful experiences, serving others, building relationships and reflecting on how we can live out these values in our daily lives.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised and supported the day, making it such a memorable and inspiring experience for our whole school community.

We know many children will want to watch England in the World Cup on Monday at 1am and support our national football team. So that those watching can get a little bit extra sleep, we have decided to open on Monday at 10am.

For those children who want to come in at the usual time, we will be open and we will supervise children in the hall and canteen until lessons begin at 10am.

The school buses will run as normal for those children coming in at the usual start time. Those children having a lie-in and coming in for 10am will need to get a public bus or a lift in.

Please be reminded we have a staff INSET tomorrow so children are not in school.
