So we are back from half term in full force today ❤️ I had a lovely break over the half term. I hope you all did too.
This morning we have welcomed some new faces to the Little Lovelys crew which is lush. They have settled in like they have always been here.
We have had fun building houses/towers. Seeing what different shape and size towers we could build. Great fine motor skills with placing each block on nicely but also great gross motor skills building up and up to see if we can get it taller than us. Adding a "ta-da" moment but one of our little ones which was lush as she was so proud of her creation. Love the magic in their faces when they show me what they have made. I saw this poem that someone shared and I thought it was such a lovely one to really sum up a childminder and the close connection that we have with each individual little one that comes through the door.

A letter from your childminder 🥰
A perfect share in
I cried after you left, the first day you dropped your baby with me.
Not because it was hard,
Because I understood what you were trusting me with.

I know your child’s favourite song.
I know which stuffed animal they need at nap time.
I know the face they make right before they cry -
And I’m already moving toward them before it happens.

This home is also my home.
My family loves here. My children grow up here.
And every single day, I open the door and say
“Come in - you’re safe here too”.

I don’t clock out at 5.
I think about your kids at the supermarket.
I notice when something feels off.
I celebrate their firsts like they’re my own -
Because in this little world we’ve built, they kind of are.

So when you wonder if a childminder is worth it -
Know that the person you’ve chosen to watch your child

🌻 National Childminding Week Day 4 🌻
Yesterday we had another lovely day celebrating childminders. We went to an event run by the Blaenau Gwent Childcare team. We had such a lovely morning. Loads of activities were there for us to do in the beautiful sunshine. My little one absolutely loved getting creating while painting with mud, but she also loved being able to plant the plants in the garden 🌷 this was probably the highlight of her morning, "dig dig digging" and putting the new plants into the soil. We absolutely loved also looking at the new windmills in the garden and then birds also. This led to taking a trip to the shop to get some for our own garden as well. Ready for the nice weather again to get out and do some of these activities back at the setting. To finish off a lovely morning we enjoyed a lovely fruit and veg snack. Definitely enjoyed by all ❤️

🍄 Day 3 of National Childminding Week with my Little Lovelys 🍄
We have had a lovely fun filled and packed 3rd day of childminding week. We had a lovely playgroup session that myself and another childminder run. The children have really been enjoying our new Sensory items within the group and a strong favourite still being the cars. It is such a lovely place for the children to expand on their socialisation. The children really look forward to playgroup days which is lovely ❤️
We then had a lovely hour out in the fresh air at the park. My children absolutely love getting out and about. Most of my days are really led by the children. We all helped to tidy up the playgroup and then the children chose where we went. Today it was to the park. We had so much fun using our gross motor skills when climbing, my oldest Little Lovely of the day was so proud of himself he could climb up the chains so well. We love to be able to help the children enter some risky play. Well supervised by us but really helping the children to explore what their bodies can do and how they can challenge themselves 🪜
To finish off the day we had a lovely creative afternoon. My Little Lovelys again choose the activities in the afternoon. Today it was to paint some lovely cards for Mummy. So lovely to see the children express themselves through arts and crafts. Especially after such a busy morning, we can chill down with a bit of painting 🎨 Not to forget building again with our new jelly blocs. 🌷 National Childminding Week day 2 🌷
Today I arranged a lovely get together for childminders in Blaenau Gwent. Thank you ladies for joining me with your children. We had a lovely afternoon of activities in the park. Lots of free painting 🎨 lots of space to be free and run 🏃🏼‍♀️ we had some great messy play trays with sand and soil which proved to be amazing. The children had so much fun making food for us and lots of cups of tea 🍕☕ thank you so much to Wayne from Coram PACEY Cymru for joining us as well and sharing in the fun we had in the park 😆 to top it off we had a lovely picnic in the park as well. A great day had by all.
the magic of childminding today was seeing the children really express themselves with the messy play and painting. They had so much fun being themselves and painting even their faces 🥰

What a lovely first day of National Childminding Week I have had with my Little Lovelys. We have done so much!
We started the day with some playdough. With my youngest little lovely not liking the look or slight touch of the playdough, to then putting 4 fingers in it to see what it's like was amazing. I was so proud of my little man for giving it a go 🥰 we then moved onto the jelly blocs. New resources in the setting and they are loving them. There is so much that can be done with them. We also went outside for a bit of physical play, running around, painting with water, climbing up and down steps. Practicing new skills ❤️ can't wait to see what tomorrow brings 🌈
