I've just been told.it's National Childminder Appreciation Week!

I'm so lucky to feel truly appreciated by all of the families I work with ❤️

Just to say thank you to all of my families past and present for entrusting me with your little people, who have all made my days full of fun and adventure, smiles and laughter. I love that this is my job and I genuinely enjoy it every day 🥰

Had the loveliest chat with one of my after schoolers today. He said " Sam when I'm here I feel like I'm your family" and then the others all joined in and said they felt the same too 🥰

Yes, this is my job, but it really is so much more to me and I'm glad I'm making the children feel so secure ❤️

Our beautiful house rabbits turned ONE today!

The children had some fabulous learning experiences while we celebrated 🌟

🌟We talked about what is safe for rabbits to eat

🌟We carefully cut, mashed, stirred and prepared the ingredients for their birthday 'cake'

🌟We talked about healthy eating and shared some of the fruits

🌟We sang happy birthday 🎶

🌟We talked about our birthdays and those of the ones we love

🌟We talked about parties and birthday traditions

🌟We were kind and worked together

🌟We carefully fed the bunnies and loved them ❤️

Early years play is so special and learning is everywhere.

We haven't got our big tree out yet, (today's the day!) but my borrowed children have been decorating and re decorating this little tree all week. Happy Home Childminding

The tinsel was flung at the tree with reckless abandon, the baubles have been on and off about 50 times, the star was broken on the first day and has had to be tied on, and the lights are perilously close to being confused with a disco... But... Their little faces when they dropped off at my house in the mornings and when they come back here after school and the "wows" they exclaim when they see their little tree... Priceless!!! 🥰

Teaching the children the importance of Remembrance Day is one of my favourite days of the year.

We watched the CBeebies programme about Remembrance Day, and then went on a walk into our local town to see the memorial and look for poppies. And then we came home and made poppies of our own 🙂

If anyone's looking for a good way to teach the really small ones about Remembrance Day I'd recommend the CBeebies programme, it's available on iPlayer.

Thought we were a bit overdue an update post! 🤣

We are loving the autumn 🍁 my favourite season!

We have done so many fun things, we've celebrated Halloween and my birthday with pumpkin carving, face painting and parties, we've explored the local area and collected some beautiful natural resources to make our autumn craft, we've looked after our pets and had loads of fun ❤️

This job is so important to me.

The children I look after are happy, secure and they know they are safe and that I care about them 💕

This weekend I was privileged to be invited to a family wedding of a child I looked after and it was beautiful. ❤️

Working so closely with parents and their children means we have great relationships and become friends for life.

Families know that I have their child's best interests at heart always, and working together and always striving for the best for them, will always result in the best outcomes for the child 🥰

Hello September!!

What a busy first week! How's everyone feeling?

I've been immensely proud of all my little ones who have began their school journeys this week. I have been privileged to hear all about it and they are all amazing!

We've started doing school runs again and had a first official week for our new recruit, and it's been brilliant!

We have played outside, splashed in the water, read stories, made new friends and just had a really lovely week at Sam's ❤️

I love that this is my job 🥰
