Success at the Young Enterprise Hampshire & Isle of Wight Finals! 👏✨

Our Young Enterprise team, Muzi, impressed the judges with their customisable vinyl decoration business, earning Best Presentation and Best Company Runner-Up 🎉

Over the past nine months, the team have experienced what it's really like to run a business – from developing a product and managing finances to marketing, sales and pitching to industry judges. Along the way, they've built invaluable skills in confidence, communication, teamwork and problem-solving.

As one student reflected:
"I'm so much more confident speaking to people and presenting ideas now."

A fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, creativity and ambition of everyone involved. Well done, Muzi! 👏

Congratulations to all of our Year 12 Chemistry students who took part in this year's Cambridge Chemistry Challenge! 🧪🧬

Designed by university chemists and experienced teachers, the competition encourages students to think beyond the A Level syllabus and tackle chemistry at a university level.

This year, 60 Barton Peveril students took on the challenge, achieving an excellent set of results:
🏅 8 Gold certificates
🥈 22 Silver certificates
🥉 16 Copper certificates

A fantastic achievement by everyone who participated. Well done to all of our students on their hard work and success!

Environmental Science students recently took on a real-world sustainability challenge, working with representatives from B&Q on a live brief exploring how the circular economy could be applied in stores to increase sustainability 🌱♻️

Students from every class developed innovative ideas, gaining valuable employability skills and industry experience along the way. The top team from each class then presented their pitches to members of B&Q's Sustainability Team, who were impressed by the creativity and quality of the proposals.

Congratulations to the 12 students who have successfully completed their work experience and careers pathway project with Kingfisher as part of the Access+ programme 👏

After delivering impressive presentations to senior leaders at Kingfisher, students showcased their innovative ideas for creating platforms to help novice DIYers tackle new projects.

Well done to everyone involved on this fantastic achievement! 🌟

38 students from Media and Computer Science took part in an exciting Game Jam, working in interdisciplinary teams to design and develop a game in just one day around the theme of 'Political Fairy Tales' 👾

Supported by local games industry professionals, students developed their technical, creative and employability skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving and resilience, while responding to a real industry brief.

We were delighted to welcome former Barton Peveril student Emma Richardson back to the College for a special talk with our Art students.

Now exhibiting a major show at Southampton City Art Gallery, Emma shared her creative journey and offered valuable insights into life as a professional artist.

Students also had the opportunity to hear about her diverse career, including her role as bassist and vocalist with the Pixies, currently celebrating their 40th Anniversary tour.

A huge thank you to Emma for taking the time to inspire the next generation of creatives. 🌟

Our Health & Social Care students recently visited the University of Southampton for a hands-on experience exploring careers in allied health professions 🧬

Working alongside industry professionals and university lecturers, students took part in practical sessions in Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Audiology and Cardiac Physiology, gaining valuable insight into future careers in healthcare.

Experiences like these help bring learning to life and prepare our students for the next step in their journey. 💙
