Dear Supporter,
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the [plum line] in the hand of Zerubbabel… — Zachariah 4:10
In chapter four of Zechariah, the prophet sees a vision of a time when God would again be in the midst of His people. But in the midst of the difficult task of rebuilding the Temple, this seemed very far off—God’s people were dismayed by the task and Temple ruins before them. But an angel of the Lord counseled them: do not despise the small steps along a great journey!
The day in which the doors of St Alban’s Classical will open to her first pupils seems like a mountain away, but today we focus on the small things, we focus on the hills before the mountain!
We must now focus on promoting the school, submitting our application, and raising the funds to open!
PROMOTING THE SCHOOL
We spent Friday last week professionally recording students, parents, and teachers so that we can start promoting the School on social media with professional content. Everyone enjoyed being in front of the camera and reading off of the teleprompter! Click here or on the image of the orchestra below to hear a bit of the session recorded by one of our parents. We expect to have professionally edited video content in two weeks!
PREPARING FOR INSPECTION
We spent today with a retired Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspector reviewing our premises and reviewing our documentation. We did this to make sure our Department for Education application and pre-approval inspection succeeds. We are happy to report that the inspector found our documents in good order. Importantly, he also confirmed that our building is suitable, needing a few modest updates (fire alarm, CCTV).
He strongly advised us to continue soliciting donations for educational resources and administrative costs of operation, the latter of which he believed we have underestimated. We will soon get quotes for the building updates and administrative services we need, but the inspector suggested the £10k we have left in the bank will fall short by £20k! Please do pray to discern a calling to be a donor to St Alban’s!
