Today Public Services Level 3 year 2 were executing their 1st one day expedition. This was planned and run by the students who were being assessed on their map and compass skills. The learners pushed through all weather conditions within a gruelling 7 hour period to achieve success. 'Always a little further' mentality and resilience was applied and as their Tutor, I couldn't be prouder! Well done Troops! Next one is in May.

We are so proud of one of our own Sophia Barnes and the TS Southampton Sea Cadets for their recent success at a District Sea Cadets Drill Competition.

Since September 2021 TS Southampton Sea Cadets have been training in drill to compete in a national competition. We have been training every weekend at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth.

The first step of the competition was district where we competed against people in Wessex area, we won that competition and got moved to the area competition on the 21st March 2022 which was representing the Wessex district against other districts in the south of England.

We got marked on our drill as a team as well the power of command of the squad commander which was led by me. We successful won and now the team are going to represent the south of England at national drill. I was also nominated and won 'Best Squad Commander' of Southern Area which I am thrilled with.

Our national competition is at HMS Raleigh on the 22nd-24th April 2022 competing against the best of the best from around England.

Drill test week achieved this week for the level 3 year 1 learners. UPS students have been working hard over the last 12 weeks to master a number of movements and techniques. They will now be assessed over the coming weeks in instructing this discipline and those who are successful will teach new applicants next year. A video will be provided soon which shows the standard of tests that one must achieve to complete the drill assessment.Well done troops! Here is a small taster.
