🚨 WOW… WE ARE GROWING! 💛💙

Women of the Wirral is becoming so much more than a group — it’s a community of women showing up for each other, trying new things, making friendships and finding somewhere they belong. ✨

From crafts and wellbeing sessions to journalling, women’s circles, retreats, social events and plenty of tea, laughter and chatter… there really is something for everyone. 🌿🧶☕️💫

You don’t need to come with a friend.
You don’t need to be confident.
You don’t need to know anyone.

Just come as you are. 💛

So many women tell us they were nervous walking through the door for the first time… and then wondered why they hadn’t come sooner. 🥰

🍂 Our new Autumn programme is packed with opportunities to connect, create, laugh, breathe and belong.

📍 Sessions across the Wirral
💛 Friendly, welcoming and relaxed
👭 New faces always welcome

🎹 There’s a place waiting for you on my piano… 💛

Whether you’re completely new to the piano, returning after a break, or looking for a teacher to take your playing to the next level, I have a few lesson spaces becoming available this September.

And this September, I’d particularly love to welcome some parent & child learners. 💛

Perhaps your child has always wanted to learn — but secretly, so have you! Why not begin together?

You can each have your own lesson and your own musical journey, while learning alongside one another at home. Imagine being able to practise together, encourage one another and discover music as a family.

I teach children, teenagers and adults, and no two pupils are taught in quite the same way. For me, piano teaching is about far more than learning the right notes. It’s about confidence, healthy technique, musicianship and the whole person sitting at the piano.

So… who wants to get their fingers onto my piano? 🎹💛

🎹 The piano is not played with the fingers.

That might sound like a strange thing for a piano teacher to say…

But think about it.

Before a single key is pressed, your brain has imagined the sound.

Your ears already know what they’re listening for.

Your eyes are planning ahead.

Your breathing is helping you stay calm and focused.

Your body is preparing to move.

Your emotions are giving the music meaning.

The fingers simply become the final point of contact.

At Wirral Piano Tutors, we believe learning the piano is about so much more than reading notes or pressing the right keys.

It’s about building confidence, developing resilience, nurturing creativity and helping every student discover their own musical voice.

Because when we teach the whole person, the music has the best chance to flourish.

❤️ We don’t just teach fingers. We teach the whole person at the piano.™

I’d love to hear your thoughts. What do you think is the most important part of learning to play an instrument? 🎶Mums Piano and Lifestyle with Lesley-Ann

THE WHOLE PERSON AT THE PIANO

The notes matter.

Technique matters.

Practice matters.

But so does the person sitting at the piano.

Every student brings their own body, nervous system, confidence, imagination, life experiences and way of learning.

Great teaching isn’t just about producing better pianists.

It’s about helping people develop healthy technique, confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of music.

After almost forty years of teaching, I’m more convinced than ever that music education should nurture the whole person—not just the performance.

🎹 Could your unloved piano help a child begin their musical journey? 🎹

At Wirral Piano Tutors, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn music properly — not just those whose families can easily afford lessons, instruments, books and exam costs.

That is why we are continuing to develop our Bursary & Scholarship Programme, offering support to children and families who would otherwise be unable to access high-quality piano tuition.

We are now looking for:

🎹 Unwanted or unloved acoustic pianos
🎹 Good quality digital pianos / keyboards
🎹 Piano stools, music stands or beginner music books
🎹 Local businesses or individuals who may wish to sponsor a child’s lessons

A piano sitting unused in one home could become the beginning of something life-changing in another.

We know times are incredibly hard for many families, and it can be tempting to look for the cheapest possible option for a child’s music lessons. But the early stages of learning are so important. A child’s first teacher shapes their technique, confidence, musical understanding, posture, listening skills and long-term enjoyment.

Sadly, poor early teaching can unintentionally lead to confusion, frustration, tension, pain, loss of confidence — and sometimes a child giving up completely before they have had a fair chance.

Our aim is not simply to provide “piano lessons”, but to give children access to safe, skilled, experienced and nurturing teaching from the very beginning.

We are especially keen to support children who show musical interest or potential but are currently unable to access lessons because of financial barriers.

If you have a piano that is no longer being used, or you would like to help sponsor a child through our bursary programme, please do get in touch.

Together, we can make sure that talent, curiosity and love of music are not limited by family income.

With thanks,

I loved this little ballet warm-up clip, and it made me think about piano playing too. 🎹🩰

Before dancers leap, turn or perform, they prepare the body carefully. They wake up the muscles, find balance, loosen tension and build awareness.

Pianists need that too.

So often we think piano practice starts with “getting the notes right”, but actually it starts with the body: sitting well, breathing, releasing tension, feeling grounded, and allowing the hands and arms to move freely.

Healthy technique is not about being stiff or perfect. It is about helping the body work with the music rather than against it.

This is especially important for children, anxious learners, neurodivergent pupils, and anyone who has ever been told to “try harder” when what they really needed was a safer, kinder way to learn.

A beautiful reminder that music, like dance, begins with the whole person — not just the fingers. 💛 thanks to -Pierre Alexandre Pribilous

When two ADHD brains meet at the piano… 🎹🙈

Some lessons are beautifully focused.

Others look a bit more like this. 😂
