✨ Our new FUNdamentals group for 4–6 year olds is starting in just a few weeks! 🎉

Here’s a little throwback to some of the wonderful activities from when the group last ran in 2019.
🌟 It’s amazing to think that some of those children who joined me at just 4 years old are still learning with me today! 💖💙💚

I can’t wait to welcome a brand new group of little learners to explore, create and grow together.

🎉✨ What an amazing journey! ✨🎉

Over the past 10 weeks our young learners have travelled through time with Art History — from Renaissance perspective to Baroque drama, from Japanese block printing to Impressionist landscapes, from art-deco posters to bold Pop Art and spray-painted Banksy stencils!

This week we reached the end of our unit and I couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve achieved. To celebrate, the children are being awarded their beautiful certificates and Art Challenge Pawprint Badges 🐻🎨courtesy of Pawprint Family 💖

The creativity, effort and joy the children have poured into this unit has been incredible — every single one of them has earned these with flying colours!

🌟 If you’d like your child to join us for our next adventure:

I love a bit of CPD - a day 'out of the office' (read: a day without the children while hubby looks after them) - maintaining my First Aid competencies and staying up-to-date. With thanks to Mini First Aid

Sunday night in the life of this home education tutor - prepping for session one of our new topic: Around the World in 80 Days.

15/01/2025

What have the Monday and Tuesday learning groups been up to since my last post, I hear you ask? 😜
After our Romans topic, the Monday group learnt about the Celts: we dyed fabric using onion skins, made carrot and parsnip soup, crafted horned chieftain helmets, made oatcakes and even minted our own golden coins using salt dough diecasts.

Most recently, the Tuesday group have completed their Spy Challenge: creating aliases, fake ID, learning morse code with whistles and torches, learning how to write secret messages including crafting a Scytale, conducting chromatography experiments to separate ink, taking fingerprints, designing a gadget and completing a spy agility training course.

Upcoming: The Monday group will complete a project on Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days.
The Tuesday group will complete a science based topic about seasonal change specific to Winter.

The Monday group are nearing the end of their topic on the Romans, so it seemed an appropriate time to do some mosaics. We destroyed three pairs of scissors cutting through the 'easily cut' tiles 😆 and had lots of tiles pinging across the room but, what fun we had while doing it!
And don't they look wonderful?

23/10/2024

Our Tuesday group of home educated children (7-10yo) is working towards their and Pawprint Family badge.
This week, we learnt about different habitats (both natural and man-made), completed a minibeast survey, collated data and created some beautiful wooden insect houses for ladybirds 🐞 and butterflies 🦋
We were even treated to a guest appearance of Bob, the cockroach!
