Such a simple idea: I love anything which combines physical skills with other concepts. You could adapt so easily for phonics and spelling, (list of common words and rolls labelled with appropriate graphemes), calculation (which numbers sum to 10), process order, (pictures of the different stages from seed to plant). If you built one robust tray you could simply change the labels! Right, all I need now is a tray, some rolls and a bag of mixed infants!

I feel 🥴
Free Phonics for Parents.
Hi everyone. If you are thinking of homeschooling or just curious about phonics, I have put together a pdf of a presentation I have used in schools to support parents so they can help their children. Please email me on [email protected] for a copy.
If there is sufficient interest I will organise a Zoom meeting so I can do the full presentation and take questions.
Just add in your comments if you are interested.
Best wishes, and keep well.
Kathy
In these confusing and sometimes downright scary times, I am thinking of changing what I do. I love teaching and working with parents and teachers. I couldn't give that up! I would appreciate any thoughts on a little plan I have hatching: support for pupils who are homeschooling for any reason.
I have done this remotely during lockdown, with weekly socially distanced visits in pupils' homes where appropriate and regular online catch-ups. I have supported parents with weekly plans and timetables, and given face-to-face (or mask to mask!) tutorials and it has worked very well. For some pupils with special needs it actually seems to have had particular benefits. Has anyone got any thoughts on this idea? I would be really grateful for any comments. Thank you, and keep well.
I don't often say this but: must watch TV! BBC NI's documentary on Oliver Jeffers is fabulous! Catch up on iPlayer in the arts section.
