Last week we took a group of Year 9 Female Students to Bexhill College for Women in sport day. This was an excellent day focused on empowering women in sport - the girls represented our school exceptionally well

Another student shout out! Delilah in year 7 recently travelled with her netball teammates to High Wycombe for a tournament to get a place in the regional league next season. They played a gruelling 11 matches but they managed to secure their place in the regional league division 2! Delilah and her family have said they are incredibly proud of her and The Turing School are right behind her amazing journey so far. Well done Delilah!

We have some amazing news to share with everyone. Recently, Amelia in Year 8 competed in the ‘Pinks International - Unite for her’ gymnastics competition in Philadelphia, USA representing Dreams Gymnastics.

The Unite For Her is a charity for breast and ovarian cancer. There were over 5,000 gymnasts registered, 106 teams competed and they raised over $300,000.

Amelia competed in all four pieces and her individual scores were:
Floor - 8.4
Beam - 7.9
Bars - 8.1
Vault - 8.2

What an amazing achievement this is for Amelia! The PE department and the whole School are all incredibly proud of Amelia and what she has accomplished!

Last week we held our first session of Roof Club, an initiative launched to help support the Labour Market gap of skilled roofers. We have linked with East Sussex CC, National Federation of Roofing Contractors and local roofing companies to run a 6 week insight into roofing. Thank you to Invictus Roofing for leading a great first session. Students were engaged, attentive and brilliant.
