Back to (un)school first day - another travel adventure begins a new academic year and this time we start our first term in Athens, Greece. We arrived later than expected due to a delay so dropped the bag at our cute basement flat and grabbed some supplies for breakfast and then headed for a “quick bite” at the restaurant on our road doing like the locals do and eating VERY late 🙈 - turns out we had our first Greek meze (could be called a banquet 🙈😂) and it was delicious! Cub No.2 declared “the three hour flight and the delay was definitely worth it!” with a big thumbs up! Fed and watered we are now showered and in bed ready for a busy couple of days exploring Athens and all things Ancient Greek (the Cubs are learning about Ancient Greece at their new home ed learning group) before the leisure mode part of the trip is activated! 🇬🇷

Day 27 (actually 28) - HOME ✈️🧑🧑🧒🧒🏠🤍
A final “Grab” ride, two flights, with a 5 hour lay over in Beijing in between, the best taxi service right to our door courtesy of my one in a million dad and a full 29 hours later and we are showered and in bed with the bags left in the hall because well, they can wait until tomorrow.
The Cubs smashed it once again! Blowing us away with how super they are at traveling. They slept when we suggested (top tip, get on to your destination time zone as soon as you board your flight and schedule your sleep/ inflight entertainment routine accordingly🙏🏼😂) and kept themselves busy on the flights either watching movies, doing copious amounts of scratch art or even playing (seated) charades. They even managed to bed down on our long layover and made themselves comfy as possible!
It was a mammoth journey home, I think probably our longest yet but we all agreed it was worth it to both have had the amazing trip but to also get back
