Young Engineers Reach for the Skies 🚀
Twenty Year 2 pupils from Stone Cross School and Bede's Prep put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test at the Junior Engineers Challenge, held on Monday 28 September.
Kindly sponsored by Edwards Vacuum and Cooden Tax Consulting, the event featured an informative and engaging workshop led by Will Farrier from Edwards Ltd.
Pupils worked in teams to explore the science of flight through hands-on activities, including a paper aeroplane challenge and the design and construction of film canister rockets.
Along the way, they investigated movement, air resistance, pressure, thrust, wings, weight and lift.
The Mayor of Eastbourne joined the event to watch the exciting finale as the pupils launched their rockets.
