Grounded breath, body & voice work for singers, speakers & creatives. I’m Jade Like The Stone—vocal coach and performance anxiety specialist.
Join us for free rituals, self-paced courses & 1:1 support to build a voice you trust under pressure I teach Voice, Piano and Music Theory ages 8 - adult. They are one to one lessons. I draw upon experience as an Opera and session singer and as professional session singer/musician. I use classical technique as a basis also familiar with the AMBRSM syllabus, LCM, Rock School & Trinity. My approach
encompasses how our body works and the way this affects how we sing, as well as Alexander Technique for posture and breathing. Music Theory is also an option, learning how to sight sing, as well as becoming familiar with musical vernacular. I can especially help any pupils that have breathing difficulties due to asthma and/or nerves. I teach with a relaxed approach and environment and believe in unlocking someone's actual voice rather than emulation. These are some of the aspects that are regarded in training:
- Breathing and support
- Posture (Alexander Technique)
- Projection
- Articulation
- Managing and extending vocal range
- Phrasing
- Interpretation - conveying musical phrasing into emotive lyrical expressions
- Tuning
- Rhythm training
- Natural/Relaxed Open tone
I also can teach arias/songs phonetically in these languages:
Italian (speak)
French
German
Spanish
Welsh (speak)
ALL AGES/ABLILTIES are welcome. My students have won places at prestigious music schools, such as Wells Cathedral and lead roles in Hollywood films such as ‘Last Christmas’. Here's a short bio of my work so far:
EARLY EXPERIENCE
I started my professional performance career very young, performing at professional music competitions on Piano Forte and Voice (Lyrical Soprano), competing at the National Eisteddfod, Urdd and many other prestigious music festivals and competitions. TV AND RADIO
I was scouted for The Voice UK in 2018, and went on to win a place on Tom Jones team. I had the invaluable experience of all that the The Voice has to offer: being interviewed by the media, live on ITV Wales News, live on BBC Radio Wales and appearing regularly on primetime national TV. With my band Du Bellows I was featured as guest on BBC Radio London Gabby Roslin show, both being interviewed and playing my compositions live. Du Bellows had two original songs play-listed on BBC Radio Wales
SOLO ARTIST PROJECTS
With my strong background in classical world I felt ready to be more self-expressive and wrote original material for my post prog rock band, Du Bellows - "Du Bellows are by far one of the most interesting and musically adept bands I have seen recently” - Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin. Currently I’m focused solo project, Jade Like The Stone - I write all songs, lyrics and co-produced debut album, book gigs, run social media with manager, Mark Ede from BiGiAm. Sometimes I work full band, I am vox, piano, autoharp, sometimes as a duo with Richard Leeds, sometimes solo. I’ve featured on The Master Link Sessions lead by Stefan Redtenbacher. My first solo release was play-listed on BBC Radio Wales and I’ve had singles from my current EP featured on Radio Stations, regionally and nationally. COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS
I’m also a part of original and collaborative projects such as:
First Congress - lyrical, rock pop band where I’m lead vocalist. Drowning Witches - John King producer/ multi instrumentalist creates dark expressionist electronica, over which I contribute lyrics and top line,
The Soul Collective - Spotify Editorial play-listed and featured on regional BBC Radio and National Radio. I regularly feature with other bands and artists - Connor Selby (Winner of Britain’s Young Blues Artist 2019), The Daybrakers, The Second Sons, amongst many others. CHOIR LEADING & PRO SESSION MEMBER 05/2018 - present
I lead Some Voices Waterloo.." Branch the coolest choir in London” - Time Out. I teach vocal technique, coach and conduct 30 -100 adults (beginner to advanced) writing engaging arrangements of popular music. We perform with the BBC Orchestra live on Radio 2. As a soloist I sang live on “Friday Night Is Music Night’, alongside 800 strong choir. I led The National Youth Theatre’s Summer Programme at Goldsmith’s, culminating in an ‘a cappella’ arrangement written for the 600 voices I’d mentored. The ‘professional’ arm of the choir Some Voice Company Choir is often booked for prestigious events - by the BBC, ITV and West End for example ‘Tina’ - The Brit Awards - MasterCard Adverts as well as selling out the Union Chapel. I’m member of London Contemporary Voices, a professional choir mixing classical lines with modern sounds. We have performed to capacity audiences at The Festival Hall. The last event was Six Nations England vs Wales final. SESSION WORK Singer, Instrumentalist Songwriter 03/2003 - Present
I contribute harmonies, charts and arrangements for any genre, as well as writing lyrics, sight singing, improvising melody and harmonies. In addition to voice I play piano and autoharp
I thrive on working with indie labels, bands, producers and songwriters in legendary studios - RAK, Abbey Road, Eastcote with top producers Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones, Peter Frampton) Jim Lowe (Stereophonics) David Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, First Congress).

🔔 Chapter 5: Performance Anxiety & Support
Anxiety is a signal, not a stop sign. Today’s tools:
1️⃣ Push into the floor & feel the ground
2️⃣ Exhale on a voiced “vvv” to reconnect breath & sound
3️⃣ Name one detail around you to refocus
Use these to move from “freeze” into presence—and share how it lands for you.👇
🔊 Chapter 3: Dynamics & Tone
Dynamics = energy + control. Today’s drill:
1️⃣ Slide a 5-note scale on “Ah”
2️⃣ Transition to “Ee” at the top
3️⃣ Return on “Oh” to feel tone colour shifts
Which vowel switch felt most powerful?👇
