Headteacher's Update: 26/06/26 Our pupils and staff have done brilliantly to stay positive, keep hydrated and continue with their learning this week amidst rising temperatures. 👋Good morning Oakwood!
Our pupils coped so well yesterday as we entered into this spell of hot weather!
With temperatures set to rise further today and due to hit over 30° 🌞 for most of the week, please ensure your child has a hat 👒, sun-cream and a water bottle 💧 in school. We strongly advise that no jumpers or cardigans are worn. Year 6 must leave their leavers hoodies at home! 🥵 We will be doing everything we can to keep cool 😎, including ventilation, use of fans where we can, use of shady spots in our grounds, as well as regular hydration breaks in lessons, 'cool down time' after breaks and use of cool, indoor spaces in the heat of the day (for lunch time too)! Miss Stew promises to make PE slightly less strenuous in the coming days, with plenty of rest and water stops too! Thanks for your support to help everyone enjoy the sun safely! 👩‍🏫

Headteacher's Update: 12/06/26 It has been another incredibly busy and successful week at Oakwood, and I am immensely proud of the effort, enthusiasm and teamwork shown by our pupils and staff.

💛🖤 Last week, our year sixes continued their activity week with a visit to Knockhatch! They enjoyed the animals, adrenaline rush drops and slides, giant pillow bouncing and target challenges! 💛🖤

💛🖤 Mrs Morgan spent the day with our year sixes 'back at base' today too! We began the day with our disco on wheels! Lots of dance moves and races! We cooked lots too - fruit kebabs for our reception and nursery children which we shared with them later in the day and a rocky road treat too! We ended the day with a competitive game of bench ball and lots of excellent team work! We can't wait for our Knockhatch trip tomorrow! 🖤💛

One very muddy forest adventure, two tricky high wires courses, three excellent meal times, four happy and tired teachers and everyone in great spirits! Now off for our night hike! 🤗 we can't wait to tell you all about it when we're back!

Year six smashed their first day of residential! Team building, axe-throwing and climbing tower! 💛🖤💛
