Fill every space!

So here is an example of a GCSE question. Probably from the start of the exam paper as it's short answers (the exam questions get more difficult towards the back of the paper).
Questions like this have what is called a 'monkey score'. That means, if a monkey picked random answers there would still be possibilities of getting the right answers just by chance.
You must read the question first. This sounds obvious, but simple instructions like 'tick one box' must be followed. Some questions will say 'tick 2' or 'tick all that apply'.
On this particular question, you have a 33.3% chance of getting the answer correct if you just guess - so guess!!
On the second part of the question you have the answers in front of you and choose the terms from the box to fill the spaces. You would be surprised to hear how many people don't pick words from the box! On each of these, a pure guess would give you a 16.6% chance of getting the right answer.
But here's the thing....if you leave the spaces clear because you have no idea, you have a 0% chance of getting it right.
So if in doubt, guess, have a go or use common sense. Aim for every space to be filled.
