Bourne To Sail

With all this glorious weather we’re basking in, why not join us for the last spaces on our Solent Adventure trip? Setting sail on the 10th August, we will sail past the gorgeous Seven Sisters and Beachy head, as we head down to the Isle of Wight and spend the week exploring cosy coves, gorgeous Anchorages and of course, the home of Sailing, Cowes. This trip is great for building miles, gaining valuable experience and let’s be honest, we go to the Mediterranean for weather like this so why not make the most of it! Well well well, what a busy couple of Months for us Bourne To Sail! We’ve had all@sorts going on from Monet returning from her epic voyage around Britain, to Day skipper and competent crew courses, through to adventure Solent sails and the Round The Island Race! Both boats have been at sea alot making the most of these heat waves with lovely cruising, some awesome swimming (can you believe the sea is 20’), some newly qualified students and just all round awesomeness! There is still a very busy calendar with channel crossings, RYA training, Solent exploring and some of our day events such as Boat handling, Rye trips and of course, Airbourne! Things are filling fast so get involved and make the most of this glorious weather!

It’s has been a busy few weeks at Bourne to Sail made even better with some glorious sunshine! Lots to report but for now, an update on ‘Monets’ progress as she Sails Around Britain! ‘Monet’ is now in Oban after completing the Caledonian canal! Immersed in amazing scenery, some good sailing and a wonderful crew Monet is now preparing to start the journey South starting tomorrow. 4 weeks to go until she returns home on the Sunshine Coast with the last couple of spaces on the last 2 legs. ‘Monet’ has reached Newcastle after some fantastic sailing, sunsets and some breeze! As we approached Newcastle, we had some strong winds and some fairly interesting seas. Well done to all for completing leg 1! As we move to leg 2, some issues had hindered the progress but crew change complete, evening dinners and ready to crack on North tomorrow towards Inverness! Well, Today was the day that ‘Monet’, set off to Sail Around Britain! With Kilderkin in convoy, along with other vessels from Sovereign harbour, we saw her off to Hastings as she headed for Dover on her first stop! She will return to the sunshine coast in 7 weeks time after making the epic journey of sailing around Britain! Thanks to for the use of their RIB and photos ⛵️🚤

Our Adventure kicks off this Sunday with the first crews arriving to start this epic voyage! With glorious sunshine, good winds and some miles to sail, we’re super excited to get this underway! We have the last couple of spaces for the last couple of legs in June where Monet will be heading around the lizard, past the West Country and along the Jurassic coast as she’ll head back towards the Sunshine Coast!

Our training courses are in full swing with some gorgeous conditions, lots of learning and some fantastic Sailing around the South Coast. From our RYA start Yachting courses through to the popular RYA Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper courses, there’s an option for you to start or continue your learning and development. We have a few more weeks before one of our training vessels ‘Monet’, heads off around Britain! 7 weeks, 7 legs of awesome Sailing, sunshine, wind, wildlife and the beautiful coastline of the UK. This week saw us take 3 students for their RYA Coastal Skipper course. We put them through their paces with longer passages, night navigation training, improved sailing techniques in confined areas, using Radar and more. A great week with 3 new RYA Coastal Skipper’s! Congratulations to you all!

This week saw us take 20 young people for their first Yacht Sailing experience! Funded by , the weather played its part allowing us to give a great experience. Lots of smiling faces and no screens, we’d say that’s a win!
