Today we released our butterfly into the Jenny Wren Nursery School garden ❤️🦋☺️

The children were excited to watch the butterfly fly and land around our garden 🦋

⭐️⭐️ 3 weeks to go - Saturday 11th July - Coffee morning/Open morning⭐️⭐️

Saturday 11th July at Emmanuel Church Eastbourne 10am-12pm.

Come and enjoy some coffee/cake and support us to raise funds for new chairs and tables.

Families can also come and view our lovely Jenny Wren Nursery School environment.

At Jenny Wren Nursery School we have been growing different fruits and vegetables 🍅🍓🥕

Today some were ready to pick and taste for the first time 😋

The children picked some strawberries together and enjoyed tasting them at the snack time 🍓

Today the children were excited to see that our butterfly had come out of its cacoon 🦋

We gave it some special water. The children also got it some water too 💧

The children then wanted to take some photos of the butterfly 📷

Later on the children found a ladybird in our garden too 🐞

Our transition to school project this term will be based on the story “When a dragon goes to school.” 🐲

Schools and Early Years settings in East Sussex are using this story to help children with the transition to primary school 🏫

We will be reading this text during sessions and the children will have opportunities to be involved in different activities based on this story and dragons 🐉

Today we read the story at the end of the day and we introduced our cuddly dragon 🐲📖🐲

🐛🐛 Caterpillar Update 🐛🐛

At the beginning of the week one of our caterpillars had started to make their cocoon 😊

Today one of our caterpillars has now made their cocoon. We transferred it carefully into the observation net 🐛

The children cant wait to see what happens next ❤️

This week we have been doing lots of science 🔬🥼🔭🧪

The children have been participating and exploring some science experiments/equipment ❤️

Discussions have also been about how we can keep ourselves safe by wearing protective clothing, glasses and gloves. The children have been taking turns to wear the protective clothing and glasses 🥼👓

Throughout the week we have been doing several volcano experiments which lead to lots of discussions about volcanoes 🌋

Today we did an experiment using coke and mentos. The children were very excited to see what would happen 😊
