Last week, Zephaniah class traded their classroom for the Andes Mountains as they went on an exciting virtual journey to Machu Picchu!
Using the VR headsets, the children got an up close look at this breathtaking ancient wonder. It was the perfect way to bring their learning to life, and what a view from the top! Bravo, Year 5.

What an unforgettable three days our Year 6 Blackland Farm group had last week! The children started their final morning by showing some great independence, packing up their bags and working together to tidy their rooms.
With those tasks out of the way, they spent the rest of the morning out in the fields taking on a series of team-building games. Despite the tiredness from an action-packed few days, they did absolutely brilliantly, cheering each other on and solving every challenge with great group spirit.
After working up an appetite, they enjoyed a final lunch together and had some well deserved free time to chill out, play, and reflect on their favourite memories from the trip before heading back onto the coach.
We are incredibly proud of how every single Year 6 pupil conducted themselves during the trip. They showed resilience, teamwork, and kindness from start to finish, making memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge thank you to Miss Gibbs, Mrs Bedi, Mr Johnson and Mrs Rees, who gave up their own time to take the pupils on such an unforgettable residential trip.

We started the morning with a few sleepy eyes and tired yawns after last night’s campfire fun, but our Year 6 students bounced back for an absolutely incredible second day. Even though the British weather gave us plenty of rain, our Parkland superstars didn't let a single drop dampen their spirits, taking on every single challenge with unmatched determination.
The day was packed with high-energy activities that pushed everyone out of their comfort zones. The students tackled the towering Jacob’s Ladder, showing off amazing teamwork and communication to help each other climb. They also hit the lake for some canoeing, mastering the water and enjoying the splashes despite the downpour. To top it all off, they faced the abseiling wall, bravely conquering their fears of heights like absolute pros.
We are extremely proud of how every single student supported one another and showed such fantastic resilience throughout a wet and challenging day. They have truly done themselves and Parkland School proud. Now, it’s finally time for some dry clothes, warm food, and a very well-deserved rest.

Our amazing Year 6 students have officially arrived at their residential after a smooth coach journey, and they wasted no time diving straight into the adventure!
Today was all about facing fears and teamwork. The kids conquered some incredible rock scrambling—squeezing through tight rock caves and navigating their way in-between massive tree roots. Talk about determination! They also reached new heights with the crate stacking challenge, cheering each other on to see just how high they could go.
We wrapped up an action-packed day with a delicious dinner, followed by a classic campfire night. Right now, the woods are filled with singing, laughter, and lots of happy (and very tired!) faces.
Parents, rest assured everyone is having a blast, making memories, and doing Parkland School proud. Check back tomorrow for more updates!

It’s hard to believe it’s almost been two months since our newest, bounciest residents arrived at Parkland!
We are delighted to share that Miss Honey and Maple have now been fully weaned onto solid food. They are growing fast and are absolutely loving being a part of our school family.
They are full of mischief and love regular visits from the children throughout the day, and as part of our After School Animal Care Club. The bond our pupils (and staff!) are building with them is truly lovely to watch.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible hard work of our FOPs Team. Not only did their amazing fundraising efforts help support the purchase of our goats, but they also funded a rather splendid new bench! The bench sits just outside the goat paddock, giving the children the perfect, comfortable spot to sit down, relax, and observe our wonderful school animals.
Thank you, FOPs, and thank you to everyone who supports their events. Your generosity directly enriches our children's school experience every single day.

Children in 6 Angelou recently took on the challenge of recreating Vincent van Gogh’s iconic masterpiece, The Starry Night, bringing their own unique flair to this classic piece.
The children experimented with bold colours and expressive brushstrokes to capture the famous swirling night sky. Each child put a personal twist on the artwork with some reimagining the sleepy village, while others amplified the vibrant yellows and deep blues of the cosmic swirls.
The children all worked incredibly hard to channel Van Gogh’s passion, resulting in a stunning, diverse gallery of miniature masterpieces! Bravo, everyone!

You may remember that we recently ran a competition to design a poster about beekeeping and bee facts to celebrate our Parkland bee colony getting busy over the spring months. We had so many amazing entries, but we are thrilled to announce our winners!
Huge congratulations to:
🏆 Alex from the Infant School
🏆 Anabell from the Junior School
All posters were proudly displayed at The South of England Show last weekend! A massive well done to Alex, who even visited the show in person and was presented with a special certificate.
Thank you to everyone who took part. Our Parkland bees are definitely feeling the love! Look out for another exciting Eco Competition coming soon...

The talented children in Milne Class have been diving deep into history and design by recreating their very own Celtic Art!
The class explored the contrast between intricate geometry and subtle shading. To bring their visions to life, they used a two-step technique:
The Center: A focus on soft, blended colours to create a calm, ethereal glow.
The Border: A striking, bold Celtic knotwork pattern that frames the piece with strength and tradition.
The results were absolutely stunning and showed the children understood precision and colour theory. We are so proud of the focus and creativity displayed. Well done!
