Verity Lodge 4870

On the first Friday of the month, we get together for ritual and festivities and what a great night it always is amongst friends and Brethren.

Last night saw a fantastic first ceremony for the new WM of Verity Lodge, .ademola7 which was a super passing to the 2nd degree.

A great start to what promises to be a splendid year!

In the great tradition of Freemasonry, Verity Lodge are very pleased to present Suzi of Taylor Made Dreams with a donation of £250 to support their incredible work in supporting children who have been given a terminal diagnosis as well as their families.

The presentation was made by 2024 Worshipful Master Luke Sibson, lodge secretary W.Bro John Blackman and W.Bro Anthony Clayton at the home of W.Bro Anthony who nominated the charity.

The donation will also be match funded by Provincial Grand Lodge Sussex to support Taylor Made Dreams even further.

All in attendance, including Worshipful Assistant Provincial Grand Master, reported a most excellent night and wish the newly installed brother the very best for what is sure to be an exceptional year!

What an amazing night we had last night!

It was our Partners' Night.

The food was great, the company was excellent and, most importantly, we raised an incredible amount for our President's chosen charities: Children with Cancer Fund and Allsorts LGBTQ Youth Project.

What a wonderful afternoon was had by all, which much merriment in the sun and some great raffles. Though we are still questioning our Worshipful Master Luke Sibson who pulled his own ticket out in the hamper raffle 🤔

This weekend, a group of Brethren from Verity Lodge had the distinct pleasure of joining our secretary, W. Bro. John Blackman, on a trip to his mother lodge for their installation.

It's always a special experience to visit Mark Mason's Hall but this was particularly meaningful as W. Bro. John conducted the ceremony and installed his son Christopher, a long standing P.I.G. at Verity, into the chair.

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to John and Chris and to all the Brethren of John Evelyn Lodge for a wonderful ceremony and a truly memorable evening.

An incredibly poignant and emotional night for our Lodge last night.

On Wednesday, we were shocked and devastated at the unexpected passing to the Grand Lodge Above of our much loved current Worshipful Master Don Jones.

However, the Brethren came together to perform a moving ritual to initiate a new brother to Verity.

The full circle of Masonic life marked on a special night and an occasion to be very proud of.
