Some of our fun and learning ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–
We have been focusing on shapes and animals and their sounds over the last week.
We also followed a new interest and opened our own doctors surgery. The highlight of this activity for me was definitly the patient who's 2 arms fell off whilst doing the washing up ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ’–

We are on the lookout for a baby monitor if anyone has one that they no longer need ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today we have been making jelly. Lots of beautiful knife control to cut our fruit, designing our own labels, using our STRONG finger muscles to pull the Jelly apart, counting as we stirred and observing the Jelly cubes as they dissolved and got smaller and smaller until eventually disappearing, smelling the lovely aromas, and helping to pour into our cups.
Our 20 month petal enjoyed feeling the sensory element of the Jelly and was a top helper with the stirring. Whilst counting along he followed on from 9 to 10 all on his own! What a little super star โญ
An activity that we all really enjoyed and encorporated many areas of development ๐Ÿ’–

A little snippet of what we have been up to the last week and a half ๐Ÿ’–
Last week was world space week - we enjoyed looking at our planets poster, making our own planet paintings with stamps in circle and star shapes and a space sensory tray - rice play is a firm favourite with the petals.

We have been jumping and racing in "huge" "gigantic" and "enormous" puddles, lots of singing, dancing and using our musical instruments during our favourite time of day, having fun in our conker kitchen - making wonderful creations and discussing the different sizes/texture and lots of beautiful counting and grouping in different numbers, we took a walk to the park and stopped to watch a vehicle pulling a house down - we took our book and identified the vehicle as an excavator and we also saw a dump truck there too. Our little petal is vehicle mad and absolutely loved watching them in action ๐Ÿ’–, planting our daffodil bulbs - lots of discussions on how big they will grow and what makes them grow, plus lots of fun playing with, working together with and helping our friends ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

Some of our week ๐Ÿ’•
Sensory basket fun, colour recognition, all about me pladoh - talking about and finding our face and body parts, autumn leaf painting with brocolli - discussing healthy and unhealthy foods, playgroup and a lovely conker hunt with friends "we're going on a conker hunt, we're going to find a BIG one"

One of our petals has hit a big milestone and is now confidently walking ๐Ÿ’– and another has mastered how to ride a Trike ๐Ÿ’– Super well done, we are so proud of your achievements ๐Ÿ’•

A lovely morning at playgroup then a yummy treat friday chippy lunch with our friends at ABC Dees childcare ๐Ÿ’–
So lovely to observe the children playing and working together as a team to build a 'BIG' brick wall. Then they decided to build the wall together and take turns to slide down the slide into it, giving instructions to each other to wait until they had finished building ๐Ÿ’– discussing what would happen to the wall when they slid into it "it will fall down!"

We have had an Elmer themed day today ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽจ
We read the story (lots of times!)
Had a sensory tuff tray with shaving foam and paint (primary colours). We investigated and mixed the paint to try and make some of the colours on elmers patchwork coat. The petals enjoyed mixing and rubbing the shaving foam with big arm movements and using the paintbrushes to make marks. We talked about how the shaving foam felt - cold, squidgy, soft, smooth.
We had an Elmer number hunt and then put them into number order.
We also made yummy apple donuts for snack.... a big favourite here ๐Ÿ’–

As it is 'talk like a pirate' day on Sunday we have had some pirate themed activities this week ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ
Treasure chest sticking activity using our fine motor skills, messy sensory fun painting our own treasure chests with LOTS of Glitter ๐Ÿคฃ getting very messy! exploring magnets in our pirate treasure tuff tray and investigating which treasure the magnets would pick up - lots of lovely transferring and counting observed, learning and singing new pirate themed songs, a pirate treasure hunt using a treasure map to find yummy golden chocolate coins ๐Ÿ˜‹, walking the plank, lots of pirate sounds and phrases 'arrrrrr' 'shiver me timbers' and pirate playdoh with lots of 'shiny', 'precious' and 'sparkly' treasure - beautiful describing words from the petals โญ
