What a fabulous week we have had with our parties, duvet days and lots of Christmas fun. All topped off with a snowy afternoon playtime courtesy of Mrs Atkinson and the snow machine!

URGENT: "HUMPHREY" BOOK SERIES

We have just been informed by Faber that the website, Fun With Humphrey, which is advertised on the back of various titles in the ‘Humphrey’ series by Faber author Betty G. Birney, now leads to a malicious website. Faber are taking this extremely seriously, and we stress that this website is not in any way associated with Faber or the author Betty Birney, and has been reported.

Faber are asking people not to visit the website and to ensure that children do not visit it either. EBook editions have already been amended. In the meanwhile, they are asking that physical copies of the books are removed from shelves. The affected titles are as follows:

On Friday 14th November, we celebrated Children in Need. Our Ruby Class of Year 2’s and Miss Hopkinson hosted a wonderful bake sale for our families and children to enjoy 💛

A huge thank you to Miss Hopkinson and our generous children and families! In total we raised a whopping £186 for Children in Need.

Each class will be hosting a charity event for their chosen charity throughout the year so keep your eyes peeled for the next one! 👀

Our Year 6 pupils helped to lead a community Remembrance Service today at church. Families and members of the community were welcomed to join us as we shared artwork and poetry. After a 2 minute silence, we laid a wreath created by pupils to signify our collective thanks as a school community to the 11 men in the village who are named on the North Wheatley memorial.

Here’s a sneak peek at our new library space! Over the last few weeks staff and children have been busy sorting all of our wonderful books into our new library space.

With this in mind, we still need a few touches to make this space special for all of our children to enjoy. We are asking for donations of the following items if anyone is able to help out:

- photo frames
- lamps
- faux plants or flowers
- cushions and blankets
- table and chairs
- small accessories

Spooky season landed in Early Years this week!

Our children used the outdoors to step into the shoes of witches and wizards, creating magical and spooky potions - they even turned Mr Mac into a frog! 🧙🏼‍♀️

Indoors we used pumpkins, spaghetti and pasta to create spooky cakes, complete with eyeballs and spiders as well as a pumpkin bath 🎃

Our wonderful children, across our school, exhibit curiosity, awe and wonder in all they do! All centred around The Curiosity Approach 🌟

We still have spaces available for January FS1 and FS2. Get in touch to find out more!

🌍 🧠 Happy World Mental Health Day 🌍 🧠

We are really proud of the work that we do at North Wheatley to promote positive mental health and would like to take this opportunity to share some of this with you. We were bolstered further, when our provision for mental health and wellbeing was identified as a strength of the school during the Ofsted inspection in the Spring Term 2025.
